On his way to deliver a wrapped leg of lamb, a butcher boy is robbed by a hungry vagabond who snatches the delicacy and runs. As the angry man pursues the thief, a cowardice of mongrels follows him through a quiet neighbourhood, until the desperate hobo jumps into a large wooden barrel to hide.
