Patrons of the theater will rejoice
This is really Richard Harding Davis' story of Van Bibber. In it are given more details of his mother's life than arc given in the story, showing why the father cast the mother off. Then comes the appearance on the stage of the daughter and Van Bibber's determination to restore her to her father. Much pathos and sentiment appear here, and the acting is so sympathetic that one involuntarily sides with Van Bibber in his attempt to induce the father to take the girl to his home and heart. And what smiles of satisfaction appear on the faces of the audience when Van Bibber finally succeeds. It is a happy ending to a sad story, and most patrons of the theater will rejoice that the kindly friend succeeds in his purpose. A special cast was made up for this picture, including Robert Connes in the leading role, a guarantee of successful dramatic work. - The Moving Picture World, April 30, 1910
