Taboo grab bag marred by VHS era

Notable mostly for being one of the few productions featuring Andrea Sutton (who seems to be a light-skinned black woman, lovely in spite of being slapped with enough rouge to make Divine call for more restraint), this curio is something which landed in just the wrong era of porn - earlier years would have seen it as worth studying due to being an example of an alternative to porno chic (and being shot on film to help cover some of the tackier aspects of the production), while some elements, especially a sequence with Scott Baker in clown gear, pleasuring himself with a sex doll, reminds me of what big studio porn tried in the '00s to seem "different." A 1986 release with poor production values, one under fake names no less, leaves this more in the junker category.

The film starts with Michael Gaunt (near the end of his adult career) making a meal of Sutton. His oral skills are enough to send her to another world - a blue haze with a fog machine. Her first encounter reunites her with Gaunt, doing the routine so beloved in '80s pop culture. - the smarmy, Southern-fried evangelist...only two bumps on his head make it clear to us that he's actually the devil. Along with appreciating Sutton's oral skills, we can also appreciate a Casio keyboard soundtrack that will never leave us. Afterward, aside from one shot running through a corridor reminiscent of Doctor Who stories from 4-5 years earlier, Sutton makes her way through fantasies, sometimes participating, other times stuck to random cutaways looking like she was just woken up a minute before getting in front of the camera.

The fantasies run the gamut of "shocking" content, two of them with men who go uncredited (a hairy-all-over man in collar and greasepaint, licking Ashley Wells' pump and rump as she spanks him and works him over with a dildo, and a Harold Ramis lookalike with red nail polish, completely dead "oh baby oh baby" type readings from Sutton, and featuring one of the most laughably bad attempts I've ever seen to hide that other actors are doing the hardcore work). Wells and Nina Preta (who appears in the second scene) also have a turn with Sutton.

Several other moments are clearly meant for even more niche fetish markets - Dave Ruby playing a dog who knows how to make his mistress, Scarlet Scarleau (what a name) feel good (Ruby managing to make this work while wearing a makeshift "dog" costume and makeup is a credit to him as well as Scarleau, especially the hilarious ending where an excited Scarleau joins him in barking), and Tasha Voux, combining pigtails and Lee press-on nails, playacts a golly-gee junior routine while visiting Santa Max DeLong - the extra fetish element arrives at the end when his beard slips and she says "Daddy!" to remind us just how much '80s porn loved its incest (today, of course, we'd immediately hear that she is 18 and she would shout "Stepdaddy!"). Sutton, in her best acting moment, rightfully shakes her head at such nonsense.

One of the more unique moments in the film is when Sutton meets "twin brothers" Jean Valjean (a more common porn name than I realized) and Taliesin - a chunky black man in whiteface and a scrawny white man (big in the ways that count in porn, of course) wearing blackface. Presumably someone got very high while watching a certain Star Trek episode and banged out a scenario. The resulting threesome ends in an interesting slide effect of showing her take Taliesin on her face while Valjean gives her a creampie. This scene is backed up by what sounds like what you'd get if a Sergio Mendes tribute band did the "I Love New York" jingle.

The film ends, very abruptly, with much of the male cast taking turns with Sutton. Bickering over who will go next leads her to urgently say she wants everyone now - whether this was meant as sexual empowerment, or just trying to get the shoot over with, you can decide for yourself.
