A True Film For Couples!
justrich27 August 2008
This is not a movie to be watched alone, and certainly not a movie to get you off. John Leslie gives an excellent performance, and surprisingly Joey Silvera as well--I'm not a Joey Silvera fan in the least. The story is better than most Hollywood movies, and the sex is awesome in most cases. The stair crosscut scene needed some work, though! This is an easy film to overlook inasmuch as cal vista had a certain look at that time. "Nothing To Hide" (John Leslie's best film)looked very much the same. This was long before the unfortunate shot-on-video-times. Jackie O'Neill could have been a top porn actress after this film, but she did the smart thing and left the industry. The color couldn't have been better, and I hope they manage to keep this film from deterioration!

70s movie with echos of San Francisco hippy vibe.
sockfork10 August 2022
This film was shot when San Francisco was the centre of the industry, and you went to the cinema to watch a movie.

Although the director, Anthony Riverton only has on credit in IMDB, its not unusual for people to work under an assumed name, and the film is clearly made by people who know what they are doing. It has the trademark features of a cinema release of this era. Plot, dialogue, location shooting, cross cut scenes, acting, a dedicated score and an obligatory orgy scene.

As the centre of the hippy counter culture San Francisco was ideally placed to attract people to work in the burgeoning industry; and that sunny hippy free love vibe echo's in this film.

The movie contains some San Francisco locations (and attitudes) that no longer exist. Tastes (and attention spans) have changed, and it may not appeal to everyone, but it's a good bet for anyone looking for a bit of 70s nostalgia.

maybe they should have stuck with the first side

Mike Robbins (the highly prolific John Leslie) leads a double life, by day a normal typical suburban husband to Julie (Suzannah French), by night a high class gigolo. One day Julie's slutty cousin Kim, comes to visit (she's hitch-hiking there and bangs anyone willing to give her a lift. I can't pick up girls like this why?) Then his wife's cousin's mother hires him unbeknowst to either party. This stirs up some trouble to say the least. But Julie isn't such a guilt-free angel herself. her husband's lack of interest leads her to masturbation and paying for sex herself. Most of the sex scenes simply aren't that hot or steamy. But then again not every adult film of the "golden Age", can in fact be golden. Feel free to skip this one and not worry about missing anything.

My Grade: D
