Plot

Mr. Mari's Girls

Edit

Summaries

  • A rich philanthropist uses his wealth to solve young women's problems.

Synopsis

  • Mister Mari is a lonely man who lives in the upper West Side New York City apartment, who is ready to help young women in need of money, or things that money can buy.

A Blonde Girl (SHARON KENT) feels comfortable, relaxing on Mr. Mari's couch. He prods her to leave, for he is waiting for someone else.

Glory is a tall, dark blonde housewife in debt due to her addiction to gambling on horse races. A Bookie named Sam (SAM STEWART) forces her to have sex to pay for her debt. Glory goes to Mr. Mari for $700, to stop Sam's harassment before her husband finds out.

Stella is a long hair brunette addicted to heroin who depends on Max the Photographer for a fix. He's not happy for her interrupting his photo study of two nude models, and then dispatches her with some marijuana. The Afro-American Drug Dealer for whom Stella is selling drugs on the street, rapes her at gun point. Mr. Mari offers her a shower, and some drugs, after which Stella, in a see-through negligee. strips for him to a jazz record.

Diana the High-school Girl needs to raise her poor grades in English, and tries extra lessons at home. By teasing her Lecherous Teacher with her lack of clothing, she gets his interest, gets her grade, but misses her period. Mr. Mari just has the $300 for her, and an address where she can get an abortion.

Dirk the Macho Girl loves Barbara the Artist, a blind blonde who paints with her hands, in the nude. Barbara's doctor says that he could do an eye transplant to give her eye-sight. Dirk is ready to give one eye to her partner, but she is afraid to lose her after the operation. Mr. Mari offers her a solution: to perform a marriage ceremony that will link the couple forever... Mr. Mari masquerades as a preacher, and performs a fake marriage, ending with: "With this ring I thee wed. I now pronounce you man and wife." And Mari says to Dirk: "You may kiss the bride."

Ann the Prostitute is Cue Stick's girl, and she wants out when he is preparing a jewel heist in the billiards room. Ann confides her defection project to her roommate Gerry. Next, Gerry goes to the next room, and calls Cue Stick to tell him the news, setting in motion his plan to murder Ann. She is shot in the back before she can reach Mr. Mari's house.

Mr. Mari invites his girls to his home so see if they will help one another, or what. Mr. Mari is there to watch, but not to interfere.

Stella enters the room wearing a sweater and trousers, and starts bickering with Glory who was already there, wearing a dark sweater and a skirt. They're joined by Dirk also wearing a sweater and dark trousers, and Barbara, wearing a polka dot shirt and white skirt. With no apparent reason, Stella attacks Barbara, and immediately Glory attacks Dirk. The four women fall to the floor fighting and ripping each others' hair and clothes.

Stella strangles Barbara, and Dirk kills her with a single punch, as Stella hits the floor hard with the back of her head.

Diana appears suddenly and catches Dirk's head, twists it, and breaks her neck, killing her. Diana is leaving, when Glory (who may have been momentarily incapacitated) jumps her and strangles her after a brief stand up fight.

Mr. Mari achieved his ultimate misogynistic fantasy. He laughs hysterically, throwing money bills on the five girls' corpses and saying, "Thank you girls, thank you, thank you... Thank you very much... Thank you, thank you, thank you again!"
