When Claude and Rayford are driving to pick up some bootleg liquor, the camera switches over from one side of the car to the other, each time Rayford's shirt is constantly changing from, buttons tied to the top to having the top two buttons undone.
When Winston Hancock cuts Sheriff Pike's face, the cut goes from his ear towards his mouth. Later, when the sheriff meets Ray and Claude, the bandage is vertical, going from below his eye to the side of his jaw.
In the scene where Jangle Leg introduces himself to Claude, they are seated beside each other with Ray sitting beside Jangle Leg. Then the camera switches to a shot of Ray. If you look below Ray you can see Jangle Leg seated below him.
When Ray Gibson and Goldmouth fight in the yard following the confrontation over cornbread, yellow Vibram logos are clearly visible on the soles of Ray's boots. This part of the film is set in 1932, but Vibram was not founded until 1937.
About halfway through the film, the prisoners are watching a newsreel about World War II. After that, Can't Get Right arrives, and is scouted by the Pittsburgh Crawfords. The team existed from 1930-1938, three years before the US entered World War II.
When Ray and Claude are older in the superintendents house talking in their room. You can see that Ray is fixing his bodysuit. He is pulling down his stomach.
