When the young Tarzan is trying to get a hair from an elephant's tail, the apparent depth of the water varies dramatically.
When Tarzan defeats Sabor, he presents the body to Kerchak and lays it on the ground. Moments later, as they all run off, the body is gone.
Jane has the picture of the small baboon tucked into her skirt at the start of the big chase scene where she is rescued by Tarzan. All through the sequence the picture is missing and then at the end when the baboon is descending on the parasol the picture re-appears tucked into her skirt again.
When Kala first enters were Tarzan was the picture she picks up has broken glass but when Kala takes Tarzan back when he is an adult the glass is no longer broken and the picture has no damage even though it has been in the outdoors for 20 years.
Kala's cheek is clawed during her rescue of the infant Tarzan from the local cougar, but the claw marks are gone when she reunites with the other apes.
The noises the gorillas make are sounds of chimpanzees. Gorillas' vocalizations are mainly roars, growls, and grunts.
Leopards don't generally live to be over 15 in the wild, and the oldest Leopard in captivity was recorded to be 23. It is highly unlikely Sabor, already an adult at the beginning of the film, would still be alive approximately 20 years later to fight Tarzan.
When Terk uses typewriter in the camp, the carriage moves in the wrong direction (from her left to her right). The carriage is also seen to return automatically which is not correct for a manual typewriter.
Tarzan wears his father's old clothes when he decides to go to England. Judging how the tree house was abandoned for many years the clothes should be caked in dust and filth and even be moth eaten. Plus Tarzan has never worn clothes in his life so he should not be familiar on how to get dressed.
When fighting Tarzan, Clayton fires three rapid shots without reloading. A double-barreled shotgun can only fire two shots in a row.
During the fight scene in which Tarzan kills Sabor, Sabor scratches Tarzan's chest. The scars are there momentarily and in the next camera shot are gone, then reappear, then disappear. The directors realized the scars would become cumbersome and therefore decided that Tarzan would heal miraculously fast. Humorously, Disney was later contacted regarding the production of a "fast-healing Tarzan action figure" due to this scene.
Tarzan as an adult would have a full beard. He would also, of course, be naked. However, nudity would be inappropriate for the film's target audience.
Tarzan's parents escape their burning boat in a rowing boat. yet his father then builds a tree house and equips it with furniture salvaged from the boat.
Professor Porter and Jane offer to take Tarzan to England where he would meet Darwin, Queen Victoria, and Kipling. Charles Darwin died in 1882, the same year in which the yet-to-be-published 17-year old Rudyard Kipling finished college and returned to India.
Clayton speaks of having been in Zambia. Zambia at the time of this movie was divided into two regions called North Western Rhodesia, North Eastern Rhodesia, and Southern Rhodesia being what is today Zimbabwe.
The Tarzan Special Edition DVD was advertised as a 2-disc special edition DVD. However, the actual Special Edition DVD is a single-disc edition.
In The You'll Be In My Heart song at the beginning as Kala lifts Baby Tarzan up on her feet and before the butterfly flys on his nose a man's voice can be heard in the background saying Pixar Sucks! (not kidding).
The Disney DVD "Movies, Magic & More" logo on the Region 1 Special Edition DVD has the added whooshing sound effects during the appearance of the "DVD" letters muted.
When Jane meets the baby baboon that eventually steals her drawings, the baboon is seen eating a papaya. Papayas are native to the tropics of the Americas, not Africa.
The gorillas that raise Tarzan are mountain gorillas, which are only native to Uganda and Rwanda. These countries are not on the west or east coast of Africa, so they should have been western lowland gorillas.
The "You'll Be in My Heart" musical sequence shows lemurs in the jungle nearby. Lemurs only exist on the island of Madagascar.
Clayton's thugs are first seen clearing the campsite by moving the stuff back to the ship, implying they work for the captain. However they then turn against Tarzan and his friends by locking them in the hold along with the crew before helping Clayton capture the gorillas. It is unclear how they allied with Clayton though it is possible Clayton promised them they would get paid handsomely if they help him. The thug with the long hair is implied to be Clayton's right hand man and it is possible he told him about him intentions and either paid him or promised him he will be rewarded if he helps him get the gorillas.
It remains unclear how Terk, Tantor and Tarzan know each other's names as they never formally introduced themselves to each other when they first met as kids.
Throughout much of the film, Jane wears a sleeveless shirt and goes barefoot in front of her father and Clayton. For the stern Victorian time in which the film is set, this level of undress would have been akin to outright nudity, and no lady would dare be seen in such a state.
When Tarzan first meets Jane, after saving her, he tries to communicate with her. Living all his life in the jungle he could not be familiar with any human language, though he pronounces his name in English.
Tarzan is able to knuckle walk but this should be impossible as humans are not evolved to walk on all fours.
When Kala takes Tarzan to the treehouse where she found him his parents dead bodies which would of turned into skeletons aren't shown. It is most likely that once their dead bodies turned into skeletons they crumbled into dust or the filmmakers just chose not to show the skeletons of Tarzan's Dead bodies as to not scare children although Captain Flint's Dead Body turned into a skeleton was shown in Treasure Planet 3 years later.
