Patrick Stewart and Kimberly Williams-Paisley in Safe House (1998)

Goofs

Safe House

Edit

Continuity

Andi Travers looks for something to hit the "intruder" with during the first "drill" she witnesses. She looks like she is reaching for something when the viewpoint changes. You can see the handle of a gold club that she is holding. The viewpoint changes back to the oriGinal one and we see Andi reach for and pick up a golf club (the one she was just holding).
When Mace is in Andi's house he opens a suitcase containing a phone but then fails to close it properly. In the next shot it is fully closed.
When Stuart is shot, he stumbles backward into the pool; when he is seen next, he is floating face down.
When Mace is researching Alzheimer's Disease, it starts with a shot at the bottom of the bed and Mace's feet are in an Indian style crossed, the next shot you can see they are stretched out and crossed.

Factual errors

Mace refers to "Chateau Margaux Blanc De Blancs" when speaking of a wine. Chateau Margaux is from Bordeaux, and "Blanc De Blancs" would be from Champagne. Corrinne Menzenoupolos (owner of Margaux) does not make any sparkling wine.
In two of the early scenes of the chessboard coffee table, the pieces are set up wrong. A player always has a white square in the lower right corner. Later, when the characters are playing a game, the board is set up correctly.

Revealing mistakes

When Stewart gets shot and falls back into the pool, the rectangular outline of the squib-pad is visible through his shirt.
At the final shootout, the girl empties the magazine of her submachinegun pointed up into the ceiling, but the bullets fly around horizontally.

Anachronisms

While Mace's daughter is interviewing prospective caregivers, Mace is conducting target practice in the back yard. He is seen firing several rounds but the action on his pistol doesn't slide back/forth as regular pistols would in expelling the spent brass and loading the next round.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When Mace is researching Altzheimer's Disease the computer voice is reading what is on the computer display. The voice says 4 million people are afflicted with the disease but the screen displays 6 million.

Crew or equipment visible

When Mace is cooking you can see the markers on the floor in one shot.
