At the very beginning of the film, the little girl looks up at the sky and blocks out the sun with her hand. But it is totally obvious that she is blocking out nothing, for there is no shadow of her hand across her eyes.
A stunt double is clearly & extensively visible where Jack Moore escapes confinement and runs towards US Embassy for asylum.
The closing scene of a Chinese airport reveals an American West 737. American West does not fly to China.
When the handcuffs are cut off Jack Moore in the American Embassy, using bolt cutters, they drop free as if unlocked; not into two pieces, as they should, with the ratchet part still in the locking mechanism.
Some of the vehicles that appear in the movie do not match the cars that could have actually appeared in Beijing in 1997. For example, the red Dodge Colt taxi and yellow Plymouth Horizon taxi that appear in the chase scene should correspond to the Tianjin Xiali TJ7100 in reality. These two cars were rare in China at that time. In addition, most of the cars that appear in the movie are totally American edition, except for some models that were air-shipped from China, such as BJ2020.
At 1:07:46, the newspaper that appeared on the table was actually published in Taiwan and featured other political figures from different parties, including Ju Gau-jeng.
Jack Moore returns to his hotel suite with his legal brief and gets her to stand outside in the corridor to prove that screams from inside could not have been heard by anyone outside, to counter the allegations that screams were heard coming from his room. No-one said where the listeners were. Presumably there are rooms above and below so noises could have been heard through the ceiling or floor, which would be one layer as opposed to multiple closed doors.
