The two F-18 Hornets that launch from the aircraft carrier turn into MiG-29s and F-15s.
F-18Cs start the takeoffs, but the final F-18C to launch turns into an F-14 as it leaves the carrier. A pair of F-14s can later be seen before they later morph into Mig-29s!.
The Swedish Soldiers guarding the cabin where Hawkins is kept have M16 assault rifles which the
Swedish army do not have.
When Hamilton explains to Tessie what happened in Russia, the ranks on his shoulders are on backwards in several shots. In the Royal Swedish Navy it is a tradition that when someone notices this, the offender must provide all bystanders with a glass of whisky.
The warheads selected at the beginning were marked "inertnyy" in Cyrillic script. This is Russian for inert indicating that they were not fissile and only suitable for training.
During the opening credits, several of the men in snow camouflage have impulse amplifiers on their assault rifles. Impulse amplifier is a device used with certain types of training ammo to ensure the gun keeps working, and also to crush the wooden practice "bullet" into harmless sawdust. It blocks the barrel of a gun, making it unable to fire live ammo when in use (and is thus used as a safety measure in non-live fire exercises). Russian soldiers guarding a nuclear weapon storage would most definitely not have training ammo in their guns.
The satellite images of the Russian tundra are obviously prerecorded, as the upper left corner of the screen clearly shows a filename: "TUNDRA2.AVI"
At the end scene where Hamilton is walking towards the camera, you can see the camera team in his sunglasses.
To burn the stray corpses in the snow with flamethrowers would leave obvious evidence - one of the key ingredients in the mission is not to leave any trace of the operation.
