Kayle Watson and Frank Zagarino in Airboss II: Preemptive Strike (1998)

Goofs

Airboss II: Preemptive Strike

Edit

Factual errors

White is handed his helmet - a flying helmet rather than one used by a shuttle astronaut - just as he is about to go up some steps to get on board the shuttle. There are no such steps, and his helmet would have been given to him in the white room.
Neither White nor his pilot are wearing pressure suits whilst in the orbiter. They are wearing simple jump suits.
The supposed crew on the orbiter are wearing jump suits with patches saying "US Space Camp" and "NASA Visitor Center. Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville, Alabama"
When giving the wake-up call to the crew, the CAPCOM is clearly not in Mission Control.
White and his pilot release a satellite from the orbiter's cargo bay whilst still in their flight seats, instead of from the operations station at the rear of the cabin, overlooking the cargo bay.

Revealing mistakes

Whilst in orbit, White is handed some medallions on a chain. When he opens his hand, they fly upwards. They are obviously falling down, filmed with an upside-down camera.

Anachronisms

The day after the flight, White is speaking with the CAPCOM in a NASA hanger. In the background, some people are working on a spacecraft, but it's a Mercury craft which would be at least 40 years old. There is no reason for this to be happening.

Character error

White refers to "7 other members of the crew" of the shuttle. The normal crew complement for a shuttle is 7, not 8. Aside from this, during the mission, we only see White and his pilot, plus 2 others.
On two occasions the CAPCOM finishes a call to the shuttle with the words; "Control out." He is not signing off, o he should be saying "over".
Towards the end of the launch sequence, the CAPCOM reports; "Enterprise 2, this is Control, coming up on OMS2". The second OMS burn is used to circularise the orbit, and would take place some time after the orbiter had reached its initial orbit.
On approach for landing, White's buddy is somehow allowed back in Mission Control and allowed to speak to him, and make jokes during the landing sequence.
After wheel stop on touchdown, Mission Control calls: "Convoy 1 - prepare for crew egress", but this doesn't take place until after safing activities, which take a considerable time, have been completed.
