- Finbar is an Irish youth who, late one night, leapt from a freeway overpass and was never heard from again. When he suddenly reappears three years later, his family and friend Danny attempt to rebuilt their shattered lives.
- Finbar and Danny are close childhood friends who live in a depressing neighborhood in an Irish town. Finbar gets the chance to play soccer in an international soccer team abroad but can't use it and comes back. He went as a hero and came back as loser. Even the relation to Danny gets worse. In an act of desperation he jumps from a bridge and just disappears. After years of missing, Finbar calls Danny from Sweden and Danny follows this call disappearing from this neighborhood, too. In an odyssey, Danny travels from Stockholm to the far north of Sweden, to Lappland, looking for Finbar. Up there, he does not only meet Finbar but also very nice people and the lovely Abbi. But the friendship to Finbar has changed and their lives eventually separate.—Gerhard Windecker <g.wind@mbox300.swipnet.se>
- Trapped in the close community where he lives in Dublin, eighteen year old Finbar climbs the ghostly half-finished flyover that overhangs his housing estate - and disappears. No word is heard and no body is found. For three years the community investigates, mourns, parties and finally elevates Finbar to cult status. Danny, his reluctant best friend, determines to discover the truth behind Finbar's disappearance. This leads him on an extraordinary mythic journey across Europe to Scandinavia where, in the tango hall at the end of the world, Danny learns a lesson about what holds people together and what tears them apart.—Anonymous
