The lovely movie of 90's
sa_a4 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Karan Arjun- 1995 Director: Rakesh Roshan

The performances are top! Music is good! Emotions are high and the direction is superb!

If you are bored of boy meets girl stories, political stories or typical murder thrillers, then watch Karan Arjun! You will see Salman Khan in a mind blowing character, done superbly well! SRK does his role with confidence as well! Amrish Puri is of course outstanding as a villain! And last but not the least, Rakhee Gulzar leaves a great mark as a mother!

I wish they would remake this movie with better effects and the camera quality being higher!

Thumbs up!

Pretty frivolous but still a nice watch throughout
Peter_Young17 April 2017
Reincarnation is the one word which can be used to describe Karan Arjun, a film which can easily be a fun watch for the entire family. It is about two brothers who are killed and their mother who expects to see them again for some reason and desperately prays for the day they come back. And her prayers get paid off when her children are reborn in different parts of the country and grow up looking the same as her dead kids. The film has some heartbreaking feel about it, but as a film, it is a bit overdone, melodramatic and cheesy. Yet, it never takes itself too seriously, so it somehow works despite being blown out of proportions. The film may particularly appeal to children - heroes and villains, fights and races, dialogue which does not have much sense, very caricaturish characters. Despite that, there are some emotions that somehow work for others, so I would call it a children's film which may appeal to the rest of the family. Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan work very well together and give the film a certain appeal not warranted by the script. Salman is restrained as never before and Shahrukh is carefree and positive. Raakhee does well as the suffering mom and the moment of unity is such a familiar tear-causing scene that nothing else matters. Mamta and Kajol are hardly there, particularly Kajol, who is invisible. Rajesh Roshan's music is as always amazing, with "Yeh Bandhan" leading the list. All in all, go and try this wholesome Bollywood entertainment.

Reincarnation, Bollywood music and getting the bad guys
michaelmeigs3 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This 1995 drama has a little of everything, thoroughly mixed together. The familiar leading man Shakrukh Kahn is paired with Salman Khan as a pair of brothers done in early in the film by the ever deliciously evil Amrish Puri, to keep them from their unsuspected inheritance. Their devastated mother, played by the long-suffering and then fiercely vindictive Rakhee, prays to the goddess Kali for the return of her sons. Temple bells sway, the camera gives a closeup of a the goddess figure, and reincarnation is underway.

The plot is a garish comic book, of course, in which the bad guys strut, bluster, and can't shoot straight even with the latest smuggled machine guns. Shakrukh Khan in his new avatar as a raffish stableboy is a crack shot with a sling shot; Salman Khan is a muscled bare knuckle fighter. They are briefly pitched against one another when Shakrukh breaks into the gangster wedding where his beloved (Kajol, as cute as always but more mannerisms than acting here) is about to be pledged to the bad guy's affected son (just back from London with brilliantined hair & moustache and the catchphrase in English, "It's a joke!"). Salman Khan, his unrecognized reincarnated brother, is a hired heavy for the gangsters. . . after they have trashed the bar, each other and many of the tables, throwing one another around, cue the lightning flash and dizzying flashbacks to stop the fight. Shakrukh flees, Salman is arrested, and Kajol is still helpless in the grip of the bad guys.

The Khans did much better, slicker pictures later in their careers. This one is amusing for posturing that recalls Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns but never bothers to keep consistency of tone. Salman with his handsome and often sullen look is more convincing than Shakruh, who is alternately too boyish and too grief stricken.

But the best of show is the classic bad guy, Amrish Puri, bullet headed, pop eyed and fierce, a villain epic enough to make you believe that he would assassinate his associates but then howl like an animal in the dust when vengeance touches his own family.

Music and dance is familiar Bollywood; my favorite number was that one done in Kali's temple, silhouetted in the dark as the boys appear and then disappear before a baffled Amrish Puri.

A trifle, but a lot of fun!

No brains required, just sit back and enjoy.
raymond-1520 May 2002
Warning: Spoilers
Two Hindu brothers Karan and Arjun lie dying after being attacked by bandits. Clasping each others hands they are quickly despatched by a final thrust of a sabre. I don't know how many bloodied bodies we see in the ensuing scenes. There must be 100 or more. If you like action and lots of blood, this movie is for you.

The boys' mother cannot accept the death of her two handsome sons so she prays in the temple for them to be restored to her. She is ridiculed by the perpetrators of the crime, but she continues to believe that with faith anything is possible.

Judging by the antics in this film anything can happen. There is a lot of fighting with sword, gun and catapult. When it comes to fisticuffs, there seems to be no holds barred. Head-butting and kicking with the boot in any place that hurts. None of this is to be taken seriously. It's like reading the comics. It's goodness winning over evil.

When the boys do in fact reappear in the village, there is great celebration. Fortunately we gain some relief from the fighting episodes ( far too long) when some rather elaborate song and dance sequences are introduced. The choreography is different. There is much thrusting of the pelvis and jerking of the neck muscles and the ensemble cast are most adept at these movements.

The boys of course have come back to avenge their deaths and to kill the perpetrators who were so cruel to their mother. And the two pre-arranged marriages that precluded the boys from marrying their sweethearts are quickly overturned with a few extra gunshots.

A Tale of Two Brothers and Two Lifetimes Warning: Spoilers
(Rated on the basis of watching on T.V. 17 years after release)

Plot:The two sons of a widow, Karan and Arjun are murdered by the evil village-lord. But she believes her sons will return. Will the miracle happen?

Review: Reincarnation has been the subject of Bollywood films for a long time from "Madhumati"(1958) to "Dangerous Ishq"(2012). Rakesh Roshan also chose reincarnation as the subject of his 1995 venture, "Karan Arjun"; but with a difference. Unlike other films where the purpose of rebirth was unfulfilled/betrayed love; the sole objective of reincarnation here is revenge. The first half-an-hour of the film is captivating. The murder-sequence of Karan-Arjun hammers at the heart. But from the opening-credits, the film meanders on without any direction. The romantic-tracks of the two brothers is clumsily written. While the Ajay-Bindiya romance is undercooked and never depicted properly, the Vijay-Sonia romance seems too fast to be convincing (there introductory scene is quite embarrassingly amateurish). But the film springs back to life from the well-shot stable-fire sequence and from there onwards it's non-stop fun.

The second half is thoroughly entertaining. The sequence where Vijay remembers his past is beautifully shot and edited. One can't hold back a smile (or tear!) at the scene where the two brothers are reunited with their mother. The mountain-valleys of the village are breathtaking. One only wishes the killing-scene of Durjan was shot at some of these grand locales and not at the dingy lanes of the village (preferably with 'elegant' swords replacing the 'petty' pistols).

The script packs in all the clichés in the many highly-emotional scenes; but they do succeed in packing a punch. The dialogues range from emotionally stirring to hilarious.

Getting Salman Khan (riding high on "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun") and Shah Rukh Khan (of "Baazigar","Darr" fame) together for the first time was a casting-coup. The hit "Baazigar" pair of SRK & Kajol was also reunited. The makers clearly modelled the characters of Karan/Ajay & Arjun/Vijay on Jai & Veeru from "Sholay". While SRK as the chirpy and cheerful Vijay scores easily; Salman as the brooding and quiet Ajay fails to create much impression as he lacks that imposing personality in Big B's immortal portrayal of Jai. Kajol and her chemistry with SRK is rollicking as ever. They have just five sequences together; but even that is pure magic! One really wished to see more of them together. Mamta Kulkarni gets the most thankless role as her only job is to dance to as many as four numbers (she sings more than she speaks)! Rakhee reprises her avatar of the wronged widow from "Ram- Lakkhan" and she is a show-stealer. Amrish Puri in his habituated evil- avatar is good, though his broom- moustache was unintentionally comical. Ashok Saraf and Johny Lever are hilarious.

Rakesh's direction is solid in the opening 30 minutes but then it wanders. But from the second half he gets the narration under a tight leash and some of the sequences are tremendously executed. The composer, Rajesh Roshan scores with all the songs (except 'Ek Munda'), out of which 'Yeh Bandhan' and 'Jaati Hun Main' live on in the mind for long. Equally impressive is the background music where special scores are played for almost every character in similar sequences.

But despite a brilliant track, the picturisation of 'Jaati Hun Main' is quite atrocious. Due to limitations in script, the makers clearly wanted to exploit the famous SRK-Kajol chemistry to the hilt through this one song. Intended to be erotic, the song starts off well but then what follows is embarrassing! It seemed everyone including the stallions were just having fun. It didn't help that SRK used to have two left feet during those times. But more the madness, hotter grew the chemistry between the leads. It's only the rocking melody and chemistry that salvaged the song from being an erotic disaster to just a raunchy number. It's almost guilty pleasure for the viewers because it's so bad that it's good! Even in 'Bhangra Pale' the continuity is absent with alternate scenes of sunshine and overcast skies.

But the biggest flaw of the film is that it doesn't give equal weightage to both its leads. The makers seemed biased towards SRK as he gets the wittier dialogues, the more popular heroine and romantic number, he discovers their true identity, escapes unhurt while Salman is hit by a bullet and lastly takes a shot on his left palm but Salman takes it on his right (no wonder the director chose SRK as the solo lead for his next, "Koyla")! Salman is not required to perform any task alone (unlike SRK's discovery of their past) which prevents him from creating an unique impression. But Salman's latent utility lies in the formidability he lends to the Karan-Arjun duo; as without his muscled physique SRK, in his slim figure standing up to the mighty villains would have been unconvincing. They make you root for them; only if they had engaged in some banter between them.

"Karan Arjun" is not a totally satisfying watch considering its unfulfilled potential. But by the end a smile does crop up on the face, even unknowingly. What more important can one ask for?

Box-Office Verdict: Riding on its cast, songs and time-tested theme of reincarnation, the film became a 'blockbuster'. The songs 'Yeh Bandhan', 'Jaati Hun Main' and 'Bhangra Pale' became hits with the first two becoming classics. Rakhee's dialogue 'Mere Karan-Arjun aayenge' got cult-status. The raunchy picturisation of 'Jaati Hun Main' attracted many repeat audiences due to the absence of music-channels those days. SRK-Kajol went on to become one of the most popular pairs of all time, starting with "DDLJ" later that year. "Karan Arjun" set the path to mega-stardom for Salman, SRK and Kajol. But considering this age of sequels, if Rakesh Roshan decides to make "Karan-Arjun:2"; will he able to regroup his two leads (now behaving like Karan&Arjun from "Mahabharata")? Maybe,in next birth!

One of the best of 90s
chetan_r41111 May 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I still remember the first time I watched this movie back in 1995. I was almost hypnotized during the movie. Dialogues like "Mamta Ka Karz" and "Inteqam Ki Aag" may sound cheesy in today's time, but these were pretty common those days and who better than Shahrukh and Salman to mouth those lines. Salman did his tough guy role with élan. Shahrukh though physically unsuitable to play that kind of role didn't do bad either. Kajol may be remembered as an actress of substance today but this movie showed her and Mamta Kulkarni, both as mere showpieces, a trait of 90s. Amrish Puri did another of those evil Thakur kind of roles, that he could even played in his sleep. However the soul of the movie is Rakhi Gulzar, every time she mouthed that unforgettable "Mere Bete Aayenge, Mere Karan Arjun Aayenge" line, I used to find myself almost in tears. Music was average, but "Jaati Hun Main, Jaldi Hai Kya" became a chart-buster and was like Kajol's own "Dhak Dhak".Not to forget "Mujhko Ranaji Maaf Karna", which was one of the most talked about songs after "Choli Ke Peeche". Bravura performances, hit songs, high emotional melodrama and above all Rakhi's spirited performance made this movie a cult. Not to miss if you have been bored of NRI characters roaming in Mercedes and dancing in exotic locales and want to see some real Bollywood extravaganza.

Salman won for acting, SRK won for romance and good music
Insane_Man25 January 2019
Here Salman perform very well. Other than his all other movies. Shahrukh can not show his skill due to the script. His role was minor than Salman. Thus Salman got more emphasize, and he make it worth. Shahrukh has a good song here, good romance with Kajol. Though rebirth is not a thing a believe but the revenge motive I liked in this movie. Overall a good one.

Salman Khan's best film
springsunnywinter26 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Salman Khan's acting and films used to be good in the early 90's but not nowadays. I like a lot of Shah Rukh Khan's films so that is why I can say Karan Arjun is Salman's best film and not Shah Rukh's. I really liked the idea of the story about a mother's two sons killed and she prayed to faithfully ask for the return of her sons. A miracle takes place and they are both born again. The film was so heartfelt & emotional about relationships. The best scenes throughout the whole movie are when Salman was fighting for money to cure his father. Every actor was terrific in their own place but not Kajol she was a complete show-off and just can not act (sorry Kajol fans!). Mamta Kulkarni was also good for her small role also she is beautiful & cute, I really do like her but sadly she doe's not appear anymore. Directed by one of my most favourite directors Rakesh Roshan, his films always took Bollywood to a new level e.g. Koi Mil Gaya was the first Indian sci-fi & Krrish is the first superhero movie. Overall Karan Arjun is a very unforgettable film and I just recently bought it on DVD.

Haters will disagree, but this was Salman's show.
ankit-singh9230 March 2022
The reincarnation-revenge formula might be dated and seemed good if restricted to Subhash Ghai's cult classic KARZ(1980). But Rakesh Roshan being the craftsman of action-dramas he's been all these years utilised the limitations to optimum effect.

In regards to performances, Rakhee Gulzar was, well Rakhee Gulzar. Amrish Puri and Ranjeet prove it effortlessly why they're the most feared and revered villains in Bollywood history. The comic duo of Ashok Saraf and Johnny Lever was indeed effective. Kajol and Mamta Kulkarni don't get much screen time as such.

The marquee of this movie is that it remains Shahrukh and Salman Khan's only film till date. While the former had established himself as an actor of note with his resume reading KABHI HAA KABHI NAA, DARR and BAAZIGAR, Salman was considered more of a mass entertainer, although he had received acclaim for MAINE PYAR KIYA, BAAGHI and PATTHAR KE PHOOL. But this movie belonged to him start to finish, call it toughness which came a bit more naturally to him and was visible in non-action scenes as well.

In all the movie is a one time watch.

Law of Karma & Reincarnation - explained beautifully by Bollywood Director
g_aparna21 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Folks! there is much more to the movie than catches the eye.

Its the Theory of Reincarnation and laws of Karma which the Director has tried to explain to the common mass of India. Indians believe in rebirth and karma - but since majority of us are below poverty line and uneducated, the Bollywood Directors try their level best to teach us all the Theories regulating our lives!

Karna & Arjun were 2 brothers - living with their Mother. They are not engaged to any village belle (surprisingly though!!since in villages, such things happen very soon)- tyrannical & brute & greedy uncles - villains- want to have it all - their piece of land thus taking away their peace of mind as well. The aged Mother , along with her 2 sons demand justice from them. The brutes kill the 2 sons in front of Mother as a reply !! The Mother is left alive - to weep all her life and also because women are considered meek & harmless by Indian Villain men. But she goes and complains it all to most sought after Indian Goddess MAA Kali! And prays to her that her sons should return back to her in order to avenge her loss! She gets an indication that a baby is born almost instantly and gets assured that the 'souls' of her sons have again taken birth - in human form - somewhere...

Next Scene: 2 infants are born to 2 different houses - in the house of 'not so well to do families' - one baby gets an 'alcoholic ,beater poverty stricken' father who hits the child all the time - THUS - the child learns to fend for himself and becomes bitter and strong since childhood - a training plan by the upper world - for he had to ultimately go to the village to kill the brutes. The second child is born and brought up managing the horse stable - another strengthening activity - thus both the reborn sons of the 'weeping village Lady' get ready in their respective homes in some remote town. But as planned by the Upper World - they meet at a certain predestined point of time - this time they even had their 'lady Love' (if only they were there in the previous birth - they would surely not have died - the love of their girlfriends would have kept them alive). They reach the village, meet their mother, remember everything. take revenge - kill the brutes. happy ending. Conclusion : the brutes enjoyed life in their prime youth with wealth ,wine & women. the old lady spent 20 years running around in the village - crying. 2 reborn children grew up in 'below poverty line' uncouth & unhealthy conditions. as soon as they remembered their past lives - they left their present Life parents / friends and went to take revenge !

This is what is happening in real life as well - but Science has confused people a lot - so they do not know what to believe & whom to believe - Arts Or Science !?

Excellent

Warning: Spoilers
This film was absolutely brilliant The real reasons why the film was a blockbuster was because of the music, action scenes and chemistry of the two Khans

The film has Salman and Shah Rukh as two brothers killed by Amrish Puri Their mother Raakhee prays at a Kali Temple and the brothers are reborn in separate and later surface to kill Amrish Puri

The film has several references to KARZ (1980) like the hero being reincarnated, a mother who pines for her son, the villain that becomes really rich after the death of the hero, a Kali temple, the hero getting hallucinations, etc

The direction by Rakesh Roshan is brilliantly and leaves no piece left behind Surprisingly his son Hrithik Roshan also helped with the film as the assistant director

Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were paired for the first time and play their roles absolutely brilliantly and both of them share amazing chemistry together Mamta Kulkarni and Kajol ably support them and both of them are quite beautiful Amrish Puri is a menacing villain Raakhee is awesome Johny Lever is funny Ashok Saraf rocks all the way

reincarnation gone seriously bad
HeadleyLamarr11 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Dear reader, please appreciate my efforts on your behalf. I stay away from writing comments on films I disliked, but just for you I saw Karan Arjun again so I could write a factual review.

A loving mother Durga (Rakhee) and her two super loving sons (the Khan duo of SRK and Salman) live an idyllic life that seems to consist of lots of running to grab mother's feet, sleeping with their heads in her lap. Did I mention GROWN loving sons? Cut to the mystery of their heritage, they are the grandsons of a rich Zamindar who is in the clutches of an evil relative, Durjan Singh (a particularly bug eyed Amrish Puri). The Zamindar wants to make the twins his heir, but the evil Durjan Singh has other plans. BTW, can any one with the name Durjan be good? Did his parents plan his future when they gave him that name? Durjan pursues and kills Karan (Salman) and Arjun (SRK) and the heroes are gone just like that. But the mother prays to the Goddess Kali and asks that her children be reborn - and they are, as Ajay and Vijay, in two separate families. Ajay romances the buxom Sonia (Kajol) while Vijay is pursued by the equally buxom Bindiya (Mamta Kulkarni). Durjan's son wants to marry Sonia, tries to kill Ajay, eventually Sonia is spirited away to Malakheda - where Durjan Singh lives. All this while Ajay and Vijay have flashbacks of their past life and eventually meet, discover their past and go to Malakheda to try and rescue Sonia and help their "mother".

What is good about this film? Well, let me think, HM, some cool horseback riding, Johny Lever maybe? You know one has scraped the bottom of the barrel when Johny becomes a plus.

The negatives: SRK, Salman, Kajol are completely wasted in this silly movie. There are songs that are so horrible and have some of the worst choreography in memory - Bhangra Pale, Yeh Bandhan to, Jaati Hoon Main are all quite atrocious. But the crown jewel is the Jai Kali Maa song. It has to be seen to be believed. If you have avoided KA up to this point then go view this song just to see how stars do not a film make. You might also appreciate the director's efforts to balance the buxom factor in the two leading ladies!!

Something needs to be said about the acting. Salman is sort of less beady eyed than I have ever seen him, but maybe because he is not acting either. Shahrukh is pretty bad too, in a role that has no scope for any kind of acting. Kajol is awful and is probably very glad that she spent most of her time in a locked room in the film. One hear rumors that Ajay Devgan was to do the role of Arjun but things didn't work out and SRK got the role - this caused a rift between the two. If I were Ajay, I would be SRK's lifelong friend for his help in escaping from acting in this movie. There is a bad guy who keeps saying "What a joke", Amrish Puri is so bug eyed you wonder why the eyes didn't just roll out of their sockets at some point. There are fight scenes that could have been planned and written by either Laurel and Hardy or students in second grade.

The movie was a huge blockbuster. But after the recent success of Dhoom 2, mine not to question why, mine not to seek reply, mine just to avoid or die.

A great performance by Salman
sorwar-ahmed14 November 2007
The concept of the story depends on your faith, as it is to do with re-incarnation, and geared more towards the Hindu religion.

The story did not appeal to me much; however, I watched the film for performances given by the actors and to see what the hype was all about.

I think the film was stolen by Rakhee's persuasive dialogues and Salman's macho, don't give a crap, character. Over the recent years Salman has really impressed me with his different roles. SRK like his early movies overacted too much, the fighting scenes were unconvincing and the dialogues were as they say very filmy. Kajol, unlike her recent films, was very annoying. Mamta, although very short, but gave one of her better performances.

All in all it's an over-hyped movie which won't be recognised as a classic. 5/10.

A touching story about brotherhood.
Reese Finn16 December 1999
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie by chance one day on tv, luckily for me there were subtitles. ;) I thought it was great but most of this feeling could be put down to the fact that I've always been a sucker for this type of movie. (Ummm ... I'd say what type but this is the first time I'm commenting and am not sure if it'd count as a spoiler or not. :P)

I thought Salman Khan did an excellent job as the brooding Karan and Shah Rukh Khan (Arjun) was his usual energetic self. Salman and Shah Rukh click very well on screen together and have almost what I would call 'on-screen chemistry' - in a brotherly way of course.

I dont remember much of the music so I guess it wasnt particularly good, but the first song "Yeh Bandan" (I think that's what it was called) was *excellent*. The picturisation of this song was *very* sweet, very touching. Major criticisms would be ... the female leads wardrobes! (lol) And some rather fake looking special effects, lightning bolts and the like.

Karan Arjun is not flashy or overdone, not over-glammed, just sincere. Its goes down as one of my all-time favourites. Over-all, a great movie.

Solid Movie
GypsiB27 July 2017
Durga Singh (Raakhee) has two sons, Karan (Salman Khan) and Arjun (Shah Rukh Khan) that are the joy of her life. When they are murdered, she prays to Kali to reincarnate them, and restore them too her, so that they can take vengeance on her enemy.

This is both a poignant story of a mother's love and faith, and an action packed tale of revenge. The music and choreography are average, but the costumes are spectacular. The fight scenes are well staged and exciting. The supporting cast is quite good. Khan and Khan are both great in their roles, and it is fun to see the superstars act together. (Though, in my opinion, seeing them together shows that Salman Khan is a superior fighter, dancer, and actor.) It's a solid movie overall, and will please fans of either Khan.

The return of Karan Arjun
vjnambu14 December 2018
Karan Arjun is a 1995 Bollywood action masala film directed by Rakesh Roshan starring Salman Khan as Karan and Shahrukh Khan as Arjun. Hrithik Roshan was an assistant director of this film. Story revolves around Durga Singh(Rakhee) who is a poor girl marries a rich man but that rich man's father throws him out. They settle in village and she gives birth to two sons Karan and Arjun. Durjan Singh(Amrish Puri), evil brother of the rich man murders him aiming for his wealth. But Durga lies to her sons that their father went to city for business so that they don't feel like orphans. Karan and Arjun grow up later. When their grandfather is in his deathbed he calls durga and her sons and decides to make them his heir. But durjan Singh murders the grandfather and later Karan Arjun. Durga begs to Kali maa to give her sons back. So they are reincarnated as Ajay and Vijay respectively after 20 years. Ajay is a street fighter and Vijay is a horse trainer. When they realise their past they unite with durga and take vengeance on durjan Singh. Story, screenplay, dialogues are laughable but enjoyable. Both Srk Salman were given equal screen presence. Salman is good but has very few dialogues. Srk played his part well. Kajol and Mamta have nothing to do. This is the only film of Srk-Kajol were their chemistry is weak. After Ram Lakhan, Rakhee once again plays widowed mother of two sons and Amrish Puri as villain. Karan Arjun is my favorite multi starter films. If its remade today with bankable stars it would make huge bucks.

Unforgettable film. Blockbuster of 1995. In my case, following link is a musical testimony to the excellent content of the film. "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGJ2rlz-g-k" Watched it many times. Perhaps, the only film of SRK and Salman as brothers :P Please watch it once. All the songs are good. The music and background score was composed by Rajesh Roshan ,the brother of Rakesh Roshan. Rakhee performed outstandingly as mother of both male protagonists.Film is popular even today with Indian audiences and is frequently broadcasted on the movie channels. A remake of this film is also being anticipated and wished by the fans.

It's an underappreciated celebration of Bollywood in 90's
amitjodha9913 January 2020
It doesn't get much better than this when 90's action was concerned but was unable to cement its place as a cult classic due to romantic epics like DDLJ and HAHK along with the general notion that action movies can't be that good.

But this was certainly the best of the era, not quite the 'Deewar', but it had many other themes going on and it does justice to all of them.

"Karan Arjun" is a Bollywood film released in 1995, directed by Rakesh Roshan. Although I can't provide a real-time review of the movie, I can give you a general overview and discuss its impact.

"Karan Arjun" is a quintessential Bollywood masala film that combines action, drama, romance, and elements of reincarnation. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in the lead roles, with a supporting cast including Rakhee Gulzar, Amrish Puri, and Kajol. It tells the story of two brothers, Karan and Arjun, who are separated at birth due to unfortunate circumstances and are reborn to avenge their father's death.

The movie is known for its strong performances by the lead actors, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. They display their on-screen chemistry and deliver memorable dialogues, making the characters of Karan and Arjun endearing to the audience. The film also showcases the popular song "Yeh Bandhan Toh" which became a chartbuster and is still cherished by fans today.

"Karan Arjun" is a typical Bollywood entertainer that blends elements of action and family drama. It explores themes of reincarnation, revenge, and the eternal bond between brothers. While the film received mixed reviews upon its release, it went on to become a box office success and achieved cult status over the years.

Overall, "Karan Arjun" is considered a commercial success and a classic Bollywood film. It is remembered for its memorable performances, popular songs, and its ability to entertain audiences with its blend of action, drama, and romance. A Reincarnation Revenge Masala Movie
sauravjoshi8526 January 2019
A reincarnation revenge masala movie made By Rakesh Roshan with a strong cast of Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Mamta Kulkarni, Kajol and above all The Great Rakhiji and Amrish Puri sahab. The movie if not perfect then one of the best masala flick of its era with power packed action. Jhonny Lever and Ashok Saraf provides the perfect comic relief. Kajol and Mamta Kulkarni acted as love interests of the protagonists. Amrish Puri sahab once again pulled his ability of being a powerful and merciless villain. A good movie to watch.
