simple tale for the younger generation
nb000010 October 2006
A tale for younger audience, this means mainly children. There is a lot of fun and music in the movie. The main actor of the tale is Vacak the little dog, how was dropped out of a car, to get rid of him. After he saves Tasli the rabbit by belling at a hawk the rabbits declare Vacak to their brother, so Vacak becomes the seventh sibling, therefor the title. The rabbit parents also accept Vacak as a family member. Thanks to the nicker the clash spreads quickly that a dangerous dog lives at the rabbits. The approach of the other animals is diverse, some of them like him, but others do not. The adventure continues, if you are interested you should see it for yourself. It is nice tale and I think it is worth your time.

A childhood favorite... Still holds up.

Well, after reading all of the other reviews I'm the lone one out but... Whatever. I have such fond memories of this movie, I watched it so many times as a kid and it still is as I remember it. Charming, cute, definitely has some scenes that may be frightening to some kids (it wasn't at all to me). I remember the most the emotion that I felt was the love the puppy had for his humans. I love the songs that are in the movie, they still bring back memories 30 years later. I've got a toddler now and I totally plan to see if she'll be interested in this movie :) fingers crossed she'll love it as much as I did!

Memories grow sweeter with time

I remember my grandmother buying The Seventh Little Brother on VHS when I was a little kid. I loved the film and watched it many times a day. Few days ago, I watched it again remembering the film as a masterpiece and boy, was I upset.

The animation was mediocre and made with a small budget, the story advanced really slowly and the (Finnish) voice actors were just horrible. Of course, I'm not the movie's target group anymore and I wouldn't be surprised if this movie would still entertain kindergarten-aged people.

Boring yet scary at the same time.

I'm probably the first person in the last 5 years to think of this movie lol. I first watched this movie when I was 5 ten years ago and it left me scarred and traumatized. This movie mentions death around 13 times and has a handful of weird creepy scenes in it for some reason. Not to mention the scene where JC slowly turns into a demon in a black empty background was terrifying to me as a child. Other than all the weird scenes, this movie is just straight up bad. It's incredibly slow paced and doesn't have a story at all really. The English voice acting is horrible and the songs are like 7 minutes long. Everything about this movie except for the weird stuff is forgettable. I just watched this movie and I don't remember anything about this movie other than the hawk and demon scene. With all the mentions of death and danger I thought this was gonna be a more mature movie with good messages, I was so wrong. This was such a nothing burger of a movie it left me feeling disappointed. With all that being said I love this movie. This movie single handedly ruined me as a child and was the first piece of media that left me terrified. The fact that a movie can be so boring and bad yet be so creepy without trying to be makes me adore this movie. There are 4 scenes in particular that are shockingly scary for a children's film it's amazing.

Bizarre and cultish
timothymatters21 May 2017
This was one of the horrid and traumatizing movies I've ever seen. It was given to me for free, and I foolishly let my child watch it. The tone is all wrong. What should be a fun frolic feels like a cult initiation. It's just creepy and not at all charming. If you enjoy watching movies that are just cringeworthy, that will leave you staring in blank disbelief, this is a good contender.
