A Rarity, an Oddity, and Worth Finding
ngibson522 August 2007
I caught this on the Bravo channel once and managed to record it. If I hadn't, I would have wished I had just to be able to watch it again. In this weird and comic fantasia, Bill Irwin is captive in a carnival water ride that has gone very, very off-course. Stranded in a toy boat seemingly in the middle of a (toy?) ocean, he must use his wits and the carnival paraphernalia he finds around him to survive. The style is decidedly theatrical and almost impressionistic. Barely a word of dialog in the film, the story is told through Irwin's plastic face and Smith's bizarre visuals. It's impossible not to get caught up in Irwin's ridiculous but dire plight. It truly is original, and highly recommended.
