A Good Mix of Drama, Mystery and Suspense
Uriah4314 January 2014
When her brother is shot and killed "Anna Marie Kerr" (Emma Samms) travels under an alias to the horse breeding farm where it happened to figure out if it was an accident or if he was murdered. When she gets there she meets all of the key members of the family who own the farm and all clues point to the arrogant and short-tempered person in charge named "Jason Hollister" (Bruce Greenwood). But did he kill her brother and can she prove it? Likewise, will she get any help from the local law enforcement who seem to be controlled by the Hollister family? Anyway, for a made-for-television movie this film wasn't too bad. It had a good mix of drama, mystery and suspense and the acting was pretty good too. Additionally, it didn't hurt to have several attractive ladies like Catherine Oxenberg (as "Simone Hollister"), Rachael Crawford ("Lois Parsons") and the afore-mentioned Emma Samms in the cast. All things considered then I rate the film as slightly above average.

Treacherous Romance
funky_cherry864 May 2005
As a fan of romance and mystery Treacherous Beauties is one of my favorite films to watch. The chemistry between Bruce Greenwood & Emma Samms is charming and sexy. Anne Marie Kerr, (Samms) a successful photographer is shocked and saddened when she receives the news that her older brother Alan (Rutledge)has been killed at a horse rearing farm. Determined to find out what happened she travels to the farm owned by the Hollister family. There she meets Jason (Greenwood)the oldest son but Anne gets more than she bargained for when she begins to fall for Jason who maybe the killer and after witnessing terrible arguments between him and Simone (Oxenberg) his brother's wife she discovers that her brother's death wasn't an accident. When the passion between the couple is ignited they both realize that someone they know is the killer leading to a suspenseful confrontation with the real murderer. This film has everything romance, murder , suspense and a good ending 8/10

A Nice Movie For Pure Enjoyment
vschumer29 September 2004
This film is so good for anyone who just likes to sit and enjoy a

movie that doesn't have a message or a meaning. With all the things

going on in our lives today, it's good to see this type of movie.

It's also not too bad spending time watching that hunk, Bruce

Greenwood or that pretty Emma Samms or Tippi Hedren.

If you want to spend an enjoyable two hours, just watch this film.

Not too bad

Warning: Spoilers
Treacherous Beauties is a good movie, No matter what other people say. I have always formed my opinion about hum drum movies but this was one of the better movies in this category. It being set in Alaska was a good touch and it gave it a rustic feel that you wish you were apart of. Simone was not a nice woman and she was quite jealous of Anne and Jason. Simone didn't have a good marriage and she knew it but she didn't care, she ran over Brent and tried to run over Jason.

There were some parts that were not as good but over all the movie was a must see. The movie could have been better but the chemistry between Jason and Anne is undeniable and he was leery at first of her but him falling for her was an unexpected twist of events and the ending was the best.

Enjoyable yet..
tintin-522 November 1998
This movie got some pretty lame acting and a no brainer plot. If not for Bruce Greenwood's redeeming performance as the dashing Jason Holister, the whole movie is unwatchable. Emma Samms gave a slightly convincing performance as the photographer turns brother's avenger, while for the rest of the cast, except for Bruce Greenwood of course, all I can say is, their acting is tolerable. On the whole, I say, watch this but only for Greenwood's charming performance, and don't expect more out of the movie.

Mystery, Romance, Thriller It has it all. Jason takes Anna's breath away.
t_broadwell-834-4023992 November 2013
Love this movie but I do love to read Harlequin Romance novels and this is typical Harlequin. JASON TAKES Anna's breath away more times than once. SHE DOESN't want to like him at all but she is smitten when she sees him for the first time. He is so sexy shirtless in denim and cowboy boots. Anna is a photographer going to investigate her brothers death. She has been told it was a hunting accident but something isn' t quit right. Secrets are being kept and Anna is going to find out what those secrets are if it's the last thing she does and it might be. Danger is there but she is determined. Awesome movie. Book may be even better. I plan on reading it now. My husband wants to know why I am researching this movie. Because I love it. I do not want to spoil anything for anyone but I did want people to know there are people out there that will love this movie. Please watch and see for yourself. You should be hooked after the first few minutes.

Waste of Celluloid
suessis22 January 2000
I sometimes wonder about Bruce Greenwood when I see him in these god awful movies that are obviously just a paycheck to him. I actually feel embarrassed for him when these waste of celluloid air.

This film is ridiculous from start to finish. Emma Samms is a terrible actress and the really bad script doesn't help either. Tippi Hendren is another performer who's talent is wasted here. Her character isn't even on long enough for you to understand just how much of a waste.

My suggestion to anyone considering watching this film is...DON'T!
