After Snowflake is captured, Melissa asks "Why did it have to happen now, two weeks before the Superbowl?" In a following scene with Ace, Melissa tells him that it's Superbowl week, and the dolphin was stolen "last night".
Before Snowflake's kidnapper puts his hand in the pool, the 1984 AFC Championship Ring is on the middle finger; afterward it's on the ring finger.
When Ace is in the storage room and hides in the cardboard box, as the cleaner leaves, he clearly rips the entire cardboard box apart. But in a moment, only the right side of the box has been ripped.
After Ace rescues the lost Shih Tzu, his car windows are smashed. In the scene after as he takes the dog/cat food to his apartment, the windows are no longer smashed. When he arrives at the Miami Dolphin's stadium, his windows are messed up again.
Throughout the movie Ace's windshield is severely damaged from the initial scene.
However as the car rolls up to Ray Finkle's parents' house, the windshield is unblemished.
In the film footage from Super Bowl 17 when Finkle missed the kick they show players from the San Francisco 49ers. Miami played the Washington Redskins in SB 17. They faced the 49ers in SB 19.
The members of Cannibal Corpse are listed under "Thrasher Band 'Cannibal Corpses'" in the end credits.
Cannibal Corpse is a Death Metal band, not a Thrasher Band.
Ace Ventura visits a Miami Dade County Police headquarters regarding the theft of a dolphin. In reality, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Comission would handle such a case.
The main clue of the mystery is Ace looking for the triangle amber stone from the 1984 AFC Championship ring, except the actual ring the players received has 5 white circular diamonds.
Ace's landlord could easily smell the animals hiding in the apartment. It is doubtful that Ace could mask their smell perfectly every day he leaves his home.
Position of the stuffed dog relative to the door - it is impossible for Ace to have placed the fake dog in the position it is shown due to the direction the door opens in.
When Woodstock says he is sending new coordinates to the Norwegian whaling fleet, the blips on the radar screen move even when the beam is not sweeping over them.
After returning the Shih Tzu to its owner, Sexy Woman, she offers to "take Ace's pants off" as a reward. In the ensuing encounter, Ace swings above the camera frame line, revealing that his pants are still clearly on and buckled.
When Ace breaks into the storage room using the Private sign the type of jamb indicates it is an out-swing door yet the door swings in. You can see the jamb is in the way and the lock cannot be picked in the manner he did that in the shots before and after the close up of him breaking in.
There are several spelling errors in the newspaper articles Ventura and Melissa view on microfilm, including "origionally", "Finkle'" with an apostrophe instead of a comma, "stiil", "itys" (its), "disasterous", and "Champioship". The articles also use the same filler material (usually when it's near the edge of the screen): a football-related paragraph once the relevant information is done, and occasionally completely unrelated copy that seems to have come from another article.
When Jim Carrey plays the football scene in "instant replay" in the waiting room of "Shady Acres Mental Hospital" you can actually see Courtney Cox laughing.
When Ace enters the bathroom, before the "Mission: Impossible" music starts, one of the green towels drops from the back of the door onto the floor.
The band Cannibal Corpse is listed in the credits as "Cannibal Corpses".
After the landlord leaves, Ace whistles loudly to summon his animal friends. The landlord would still be nearby and could easily hear the whistle and subsequent animal rustle through the flimsy door.
Team pictures from the "1984" season in the movie were taken at Joe Robbie Stadium, which wasn't built yet. The Dolphins were still located at The Orange Bowl in 1984.
At the end of the scene where Snowflake is kidnapped, the get-a-way van squeals/spins its tires with a sound as if the van was on concrete. There is only grass on the stadium field.
Ace's first customer offers to take his pants off, and he accepts, after which we hear him being unzipped. While flying around from the ceiling, however, his pants are clearly still on.
In Einhorn's office, when Ace is shown from the back saying "We're talking paranoid delusional psychosis," you can see that the line was dubbed over, as it doesn't match the movement of his mouth, and he continues to move his mouth after the line has been spoken.
After the kidnappers put Snowflake into the truck the camera does a close up of the back of the van which is red.
In the next shot the camera does a wide shot of the whole the van as it drives off, you can clearly see that it is now blue.
When Ace visits Ray Finkle's house, as he enters the house, Ray's mother says "Well, it's an honour to have you in our home", but her lips do not move, as she is smiling.
After Ace rescues Dan from the warehouse in Hallandale, they are shown briefly driving on the Florida Turnpike. Hallandale is located north of the stadium, and therefore they would have had to travel south. In the film, they are traveling north on the highway.
In the movie, the Miami City Police officers are wearing Miami-Dade Police Patches. The real-life Miami City Police patches are circular and feature a palm tree in the center.
At the end when the police run in to arrest Ace, Einhorn screams that he kidnapped Snowflake and was just about to kill Dan Marino and her. You would think that Dan Marino would have spoken up and disputed her at that point. Einhorn also mentions that he killed Roger Podacter while Melissa Robinson is present. The problem there is that Melissa was with Ace when she got the news of Podacter's murder, yet she does not speak up either.
When the police run in to arrest Ace & Lt. Einhorn is saying that Ace kidnapped snowflake, she also mentions that he killed Roger Podacter. The problem there is that Melissa Robinson can back Ace up & clear him of murdering Roger Podacter because Ace was with Melissa at the time when he was murder.
Einhorn should have been found out years ago. Every officer needs physically YEARLY and the real Lois Einhorn' family would have become suspicious of the lack or contact. Plus they have the birth certificate to confirm they had a CISGENDER daughter.
After Ace points out the blood stain on the balcony or Roger's, Lt. Einhorn touches it with her bare hand, something no cop would ever do. However, it is possible that she did this deliberately to contaminate the crime scene and make the blood evidence inadmissible.
The entire police force reacts with disgust after Ace turns around Lt. Einhorn to reveal her male genitals tucked between her legs. However, there were several officers standing behind her before this, who should have already seen it.
When Ace is in the mental hospital as "Larry", he suddenly stops to do his half-time dance and then slams his head and face into the bench in the hallway. When he does this, the doctor starts laughing in an unprofessional manner.
During the sequence when Ace is searching for the 1984 AFC Championship ring with the missing stone he chases a football player around the track. This actor is former NFL defensive end Marco Coleman. Coleman played college football at Georgia Tech from 1989-1991 and was with the Miami Dolphins from 1992-1995. This obviously means he would not have been a member of the 1984 AFC Championship team. He would have only been in high school, likely in the 9th grade in 1984.
Ace references Poltergeist (1982) when he says, "I have exorcised the demon. This house is clear." But the line is simply, "This house is clean."
