Silly yet enjoyable at times
Floated223 April 2022
Starring Chris Pratt is one of his earlier roles before superstardom, we see how he has changed yet remained the same. His character in this is somewhat similar to his character we normally see him in nowadays. The film's premise is what one would expect. It is silly, and over the top but it is fun and not to take serious.

Nothing really clever but there is enough entertainment and fantasy to enjoy. Sure the film could have been better given its premise and at times is very predictable but its a given, not to expect much. Deep in the Valley is somewhat like those early 2010 Asylum teen comedies yet better and less raunchy. There are some nudity (not "The Asylum" level much) and those reviews claiming there isn't much have watched it on television or a censored version. Over 13 years since its release, this film is seemingly completely forgotten among Chris Pratt films.

Had Potential, But It's Just Dumb...
atomicis9 January 2021
Tracy Morgan, Chris Pratt, Scott Caan, and several really hot actresses cannot make this sophomoric story work. It could be a great movie for a junior high boys' sleepover; there's no nudity that I noticed despite the "Parents Guide" (sic,) so not much to offend those who are put off by it. I had to keep watching to see TM's five minutes in the film, and then to see if there was anything to justify the rating here in the last third, but there wasn't. Not the worst flick I've ever seen, but in the bottom tenth for sure.

One of the most innocent films I've ever seen! Some raunchy language but outside of that, just farce and slapstick.

Blah...

Alright, first up. This film is intended to be what it is; a soft-core pornography with a storyline. Intended to be watched with a brain-dead mind, whilst lazing around on a Sunday morning. It could be watched with either your spouse, partners, but NEVER with your parents/kids around.

This film is okay-ish if you are not too over-analyzing the content. After all, it is not going to be nominated to some film festivals or something.

There is no full-frontal nudity; fleshes are being thrown around, but not too much. Should be okay, especially to those who wants to spark the flame, as they say.

The premise has been done numerous times, so there is no guessing the ending.

Again; I'd say that this is an okay film, nothing to shout about. However, given the circumstances, this is way better than some of the soft-core film Hollywood is churning nowadays.

Gave is a 1 because I couldn't give it a 0

If 3 14-year-old boys got together to make porn (boys that obviously know NOTHING about women, sex, or porn) THIS is what they would come up with.

I couldn't finish it. Definitely one of the worst movies ever made.

Surprising fun for such a cheesy concept
Joxerlives12 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Quite liked this, very entertaining and not just in terms of the plentiful softcore cheesecake on display. The porn world is so riven with clichés that it's obviously fit for satire as Boogie Nights so ably proved. Really like Chris Pratt's character and his ideal porn girl is surprisingly sweet, so happy that they end up together in the end. Also liked the porn cop who speaks in nothing but meaningless porn film law enforcement clichés, complete with the 2 hulking, nearly mute cohorts you inevitably find in such films.

And Kim Kardashian and Denise Richards as guest stars? Wow! Surprised they didn't have some real porn stars taking part too although maybe I just missed them? Needless to say loads of tasteful nudity from some incredibly beautiful women, actually watched this on YouTube, surprised they allowed it as they don't normally permit any, even if this was a 15 certificate? Perhaps because virtually no one actually has any sex despite the risqué subject matter?

Two more things I'd like to have seen, firstly Chris Pratt's porn star girlfriend adapting to the real world, finding out what you can't do in a non-porn reality. Secondly a better ending. Chris Pratt's beautiful but shrewish ex-girlfriend staggering drunkenly into the liquor store and bitchily demanding more tequila after her break up. Shift to Scott Caan's ex-porn star cop who is now the liquor store clerk raising an eyebrow to the camera. Back to some sexy cheerleaders dancing and then finish the film with Scott Caan and the ex-girlfriend coming out of the storeroom breathless, sweaty and putting their clothes back on.

"Can I have some tequila please?" she asks, now much more subdued. He passes it to her but grips her hand as she receives it.

"If you ever want some more you know where to come!" he tells her. She raises a saucy eyebrow "Count on it!"

If You've Seen 90s Porn Flicks: This Should Be Hilarious
nammage12 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I saw my first pornographic film when I was eight years old. I found it under my parents bed looking for spare change. I was like, "Why would they hide a movie here?" and I popped in to the VCR (remember those?) and had absolutely no idea what I was watching. When I got to Junior High, kids (boys) were looking at women in their underwear in the back of the Sears and/or JCPenney catalogs. After high school I got invited to this 4-day birthday party for a friend. The guy who's house it was at was a bit of a dweeb but our dweeb and he thought softcore pornography was no different than hardcore pornography. There was a girl there who slept with a lot of the guys at the party (mainly the birthday boy before he got way too drunk) and I asked her if she'd sleep with the guy who's house it was because he had no idea what sex was. The point is: porn is fake. Fake in the sense of the scenarios not the actual sex unless softcore. This film reminded me of 90s pornography. I was a teenager in the early half and in my early 20s in the later half. It was hilarious then as this movie is now and I feel this movie did a great job in poking fun at that. I laughed throughout this entire film. It was hilarious. All I got to say.

Fun To Watch But Not That Funny
alifaras9511 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Deep in the valley is one of the repeated comedy adult movies. The story is nice, I liked the time traveling to adult world, it was funny. Chris Pratt and Brendan Hines acting was so good, especially Chris Pratt which he now became famous in his career. Scott Caan was good too acting the role of the villain cop. the girls in the movie were extremely beautiful for an adult film. I loved their acting.I think this movie will be good if the director worked hard on it.Moreover, the comedy in Deep in the Valley was above average thats why I rated it 6/10,but it could get more rating if it was more funnier. At the end, I think Deep in the valley is good movie to watch for one time only.

Two Friends Embarking on a Journey to a Pornographic Paradise
Uriah4326 January 2024
"Carl" (Brendan Hines) is a decent, young man who just happens to be in a relationship with a woman named "Tracy" (Charlotte Salt) who is extremely controlling and never lets him make a decision on his own. Recognizing this, his best friend "Lester Watts" (Chris Pratt) openly advises Carl to end his relationship with her and move on. However, considering that Lester constantly gets drunk, is addicted to pornographic movies and doesn't have a girlfriend of his own, Carl dismisses Lester's suggestions and essentially allows Tracy to walk all over him. Then one day, a magical booth appears on Lester's doorstep which transports him and Lester to another dimension that is based upon several porn films which Lester knows all too well. And while Lester considers this to be paradise, Carl is not at all happy with this sudden change of events and simply desires to return to his previous sad relationship with Tracy. The problem is that there is a sadistic police detective named "Rod Cannon" (Scott Caan) who considers both Lester and Carl to be trespassers in this pornographic dimension and is intent upon making their life as miserable as possible. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that, in spite of the cheap sets, bad acting and vulgar script, I actually thought this film was quite funny with both Chris Pratt and Brendan Hines working quite well together as a team. Likewise, having a number of attractive actresses like Rachel Specter (as "Bambi"), Denise Richards ("Autumn Bliss"), and Kate Albrecht ("Daphne") certainly didn't hurt this film in any way either. Be that as it may, while this film is clearly not intended for everyone, I enjoyed it for the most part, and I have rated it accordingly. Slightly above average.

Far better than you'd think. (No Spoilers)
CaptainMurphy426 July 2022
Yeah, do yourself a favor and ignore the bad ratings from people with no sense of humor. Chris Pratt is hysterical. If you are looking to find a bunch of nudity, look elsewhere, this movie does have a plot and I don't actually remember any nudity. This movie is built with the general premise that "what if you got thrown into a porn world" so naturally there are a ton of porn cliches and they are surprisingly well done and very funny. If you are unfamiliar with how pornos used to be, then there is definitely a learning curve here, but it pretty much hits the nail on the head. Hopefully one day I run into Chris Pratt so I can tell him how great he is in this movie. Shame on the haters, I really doubt they actually watched the whole movie.

A Hilarious Late Night Flick Mixing Fantasy, Adventure And A Porno Theme
isantistao18 August 2019
This movie is not a serious movie. It is fun and silly and should be watched when that is what you are looking for. It is a great movie that pairs fantasy and adventure where two friends travel to a pornographic themed fantasy world. It is completely hilarious and sexy and just all around great entertainment.
