Fanny says her mother Alice died when she was 11 years old. However, we later find out that Fanny was born no earlier than 1963 (Alice's letter to Axel where she says that she is pregnant is dated March 14, 1963) and Alice died in 1973 (from the date on her gravestone), which means that Fanny would have been at most 10 years old when Alice died.
