Troll 2 (1990)

Goofs

Troll 2

Edit

Continuity

When the goblins eat the goo, Arnold says his first two lines with a bare forehead. When he yells "Oh my God!", a fly appears on his forehead.
During Creedence and Brent's popcorn scene, popcorn alternately disappears and reappears on Brent's face.
As the family drives toward Nilbog, Michael remarks that no one is around because everyone is asleep that time of night. Every shot in the scene is in broad daylight.
While the family are fending off goblins in the hallway of their house, Elliot throws one of the goblins. The camera then shows the goblin falling down the stairs even though the stairs are situated at the other end of the hall.
In the montage near the beginning, a scene with the family's vehicle takes an exit next to a semi-truck, which honks for no apparent reason. In the next scene, the family is in a completely different vehicle.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

Some fans believe Creedence wears braces, but actually it's make-up to make her teeth look rotten.

Revealing mistakes

When the family is frozen at the table, people are clearly blinking, shaking, and slightly grinning.
When Arnold and the girl reach the "house that looks like a church", a plaque on the wall clearly says Porterville, the town where the Nilbog scenes were shot.
Creedence obviously steps up on a stool when she grabs Joshua by the neck and hoists him up.
After the Sheriff picks up the boy and drives him into town. It is quite clear that the "Sheriffs" (Police) markings on the car are only on one side.
Arnold moves a bit when Drew drags him out of the church, even though he is supposed to be absolutely stiff.

Miscellaneous

Joshua's bedroom contains pennants for multiple baseball teams who complete against each other as opposed to one single team.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

The police chief gives Drew a hamburger. Drew bites it and says "Thank you officer," but there is no audio. A bit later, he mouths "This is good," but the audio only says "good."
Creedence says "You'll just feel a little tickle...", but her mouth says something else.
When the family stops in Nilbog for the first time outside the General Store, you can hear the engine of the car running but when the driver drives away, he starts the car.

Crew or equipment visible

After Elliot pushes a goblin down the stairs, another group of goblins chases the family down the hall. The mother screams "let's run!", and the camera pans down the hall as the family escapes. A goblin is standing at the end of the hall, and unsuccessfully tries to move out of the shot.
When the witch go out of the camper and look at herself in the mirror, you can clearly see a cameraman in the mirror.
Shadows of cameras and camera operators appear throughout the movie, including guests in the party scene, Holly's back in the séance scene, and Joshua in the first scene.
When Drew is leaving the store after buying milk, there is a close-up shot of a man wearing sun glasses. If you look carefully you can see the reflection of the camera man standing on the street.

Errors in geography

When Grandpa Seth pulls the car over, internal shots show the car on a major highway, with several lanes running through fields. External shots show the car on a small country lane in the woods.

Plot holes

Even though the movie is called Troll 2, not a single troll is either seen or even mentioned throughout the entire movie.

Character error

Grandpa Seth reads from a book entitled "Davy and the Goblins" while telling Joshua the story of Peter and the goblins at the beginning of the film.
Creedence says she is "from Stonehenge." Stonehenge is a monument, not a town.
When Joshua tries to tell his family that ''(...) Nilbog is Goblin spelled backwards!'', he pronounces it ''Nilblog''.
