Rutger Hauer in Split Second (1992)

Goofs

Split Second

Edit

Continuity

Stone drives to a crime scene with a blue light on his car but it's disappeared when he rounded a corner then is back when he reaches his destination.
As a hovercraft moves around the flooded London streets the propulsion fan isn't working.
After Durkin is attacked and Stone drags him out of the back of his car, the blood on his shirt changes between shots.
When Stone covers the first victim with his coat his hair is suddenly wet and dripping.
Stones sunglasses appear and disappear when the ratcatcher drops the keys down to him.

Factual errors

Despite the film being set in 2008, the very first shot of the movie reveals the true age of the film - The Millenium Dome, now known As the O2, is simply not where it's supposed to be, and the London Skyline is a shadow of what it has now become. This can be forgiven as no-one can predict the future.
When Stone is sitting in the ambulance, the tech tells him he's hyperventilating and then proceeds to put an oxygen mask on him. Administering oxygen is contraindicated for hyperventilation.

Revealing mistakes

Although the movie is supposedly set in a flooded London, all the footage shot along the Thames, shows the water levels at a perfectly normal level. This is most evident when we see the Thames flood barrier, which is always shown open. (The barrier was built in the early 1980s to protect many London boroughs from rising sea levels)

Miscellaneous

In a hospital, Harley put a standard cigarette to his mouth, and in the next scene taking guns back, he smokes his standard cigarillo.
When Stone emerges from the strip club bathroom and confronts the patrons an extra can be seen dressed in identical clothes with a similar haircut to Rutger Hauer.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When the symbol written in blood is shown, it contains the numbers 25 and 78. Durkin's voice reads it as 25 and 73. (He repeats the numbers correctly in a later scene.)
The doctor examining the second victim has clearly had some dialogue dubbed over.

Crew or equipment visible

A woman's hand can be holding back the plastic curtains when Durkin sees the hole torn through the morgue door by the creature.
The large rat Harley shoots by Durkin's shoulder is a prop, and not real. Although on screen for only a 'split second' (no pun intended); if paused you can see inside the rat's mouth the mechanism that is moving the rat's head quite clearly.
