When Nicholas Cage's character and the woman hop the train from the cemetery the train engine is shown to be a Southern Pacific locomotive. In the parting shot of the train going down the track the locomotive is an MRL locomotive.
When Michael climbs on top of the truck there is a 2x4x8 board on top of the truck also. While driving down the highway the truck driver slams on the brakes and the 2x4 flies forward onto the road in the other lane about 10-15 in front of the truck. A few minutes later when they drive away the 2x4 is gone.
When Michael Williams is leaving the ranch after fighting Lyle he is clearly seen tucking his gun into the back of his pants, yet in the next shot he still has the gun in his right hand.
At around 1h:05m when Mike is attacked by Lyle in Wayne's office, he knocks down some books as he falls. Then in the next shot those same books are still on the shelf.
When Michael is driving to the gas station on the highway, the Cadillac's gearshift lever is in "Park".
It appears Hopper had an automatic pistol that he had fired once in shooting out the windshield. Cage was aware that the magazine clip had been removed from the weapon that ended on the seat of the car, placed there by Walsh who picked up the weapon from the ground and was retrieved by Boyle before taking it on the train with Cage. it seems there should have been a round in the automatic's cylinder even though the clip was removed. I do not know much about weapons but I thought people got killed daily by weapons they believe are empty because the clip was removed. It seems it should have fired once at Cage when the trigger was pulled.
When Lyle shoots the window out of the car, the next shot shows the hammer of the automatic pistol down. Firing the weapon would have caused it to be cocked. Additionally, no cartridge shell was ejected; in reality, one would have hit the windshield on the inside of the car.
Lara's boyfriend, shot twice in the gut, was unrealistically attempting to change a flat tire on his pickup just before being hit by Michael's car. Anyone shot in the gut would not hesitate to drive on a flat tire and go directly to the nearest hospital.
When Cage's character tumbled down the ridge you can see the back of his jean's are covered in mud before he gets into Lyle's car. They go straight to the bar and when he walks into the bathroom the back of the jeans are squeaky clean.
The train is Southern Pacific, correct for the shooting locale, Arizona, but not possible for the story's setting in Wyoming where it would be Union Pacific.
Red Rock, Wyoming, is supposedly 50 miles east of Medicine Bow. Near the end of the film, a deputy announces that he's 'called for backup from Laramie and Rawlins.' Within moments (even allowing for movie time), several police cars show up to chase down 'the man from Texas.' Given Red Rock's supposed location, it would be around 80 miles from Laramie and over 100 miles from Rawlins. So how did those cops get there that fast?

When Lyle and Michael are discussing both being in the Marine Corps; Lyle refers to Michael as "soldier" and at the end of the same conversation Micheal calls Lyle, "soldier." It is unlikely that either marine would refer to another Marine as "soldier," but would call him or her "marine", "jarhead", "leatherneck" "devil dog" or even "gyrene" instead.
Michael's bum knee has him limping one minute and then perfectly fine the next.
