Watkins and Slade are not strapped into the cockpit of the Mirage they are flying when they perform the head-on barrel-roll with Dragon; there is no way they could have remained in control of the plane or remained seated.
The Air Force does not allow fighter pilots to fly planes if they need corrective lenses/contacts.
When Dragon was taking off to pursue Shotgun and Slade, the stock footage was of an Israeli Mirage with a star of David on the side.
The enemy soldier killed at the top of the scaffolding puts out a hand to prevent hitting his head on the scaffolding before he hits the ground.
In the final showdown when Dragon is taking-off, they neglected to cover the Israeli markings on the Kfir.
Otherwise, all Israeli markings were not evident either on the Kfirs or the F-16s.
Although the aggressor planes were referred to as Mirages, the Israelis ceased using mirages by 1982. The aggressor planes in the film were Kfir C3s which have the canards just in front of and above the wings.
