California enacted a mandatory helmet law in 1992, after the first season of Renegade, it would be very foolish for a man wanted by the law to ride without a helmet. Reno Raines seldom wears a helmet, and in California would be stopped frequently for the violation.

Reno will often appear in various places without a disguise. Not only is this very stupid but anybody could identify him, and this is even worse because he is a former cop and should know this.

After Reno escapes from prison, his face, even in the 90s would have been all over the television, and anybody could have identified him There were also several cops that would have known him to, so he would have easily been found out and so, the plot of the series makes little sense.
