- In the first episodes in the Japanese language version, Mamorou calls Usagi "Dumpling Head". In the Viz Media English dub, he calls her "Bun Head".
- In the Korean version, all Japanese words which appear on-screen have been either removed or simply left blank.
- In the Thai version, all scenes which have female characters wearing swimsuits have been censored and blurred, a censorship common in Thai-dubbed anime.
- When VIZ Media licensed the series in 2013, and produced a new English Dub, unlike with the previous English versions from DiC and Cloverway, it would be completely uncut, with all the cut or altered material from the original English dub restored to their original version. It would also be the first time that the Sailor Stars season was released in North America as well as the first time that the episodes skipped during the Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R seasons were dubbed in English, including Episode 67, which was never released in North America before, even with the ADV films sub release of the first two seasons due to the objections of series creator Naoko Takeuchi.
- Starting in 2014, an a new anime series was released known as Sailor Moon Crystal (2014) was released. This would be followed by two separate two-part anime films, Sailor Moon Eternal (2021) and Sailor Moon Cosmos (2023) which are all part of a reboot which readapts all five of the major story arcs, which unlike this series, is a more faithful to the manga as this series told the story in its own way.
- When ADV released a boxset for the Region 1 DVD market, it did not include Episode #67. The possible reason why this episode was not included is due to the objections of creator Naoko Takeuchi who personally did not like the episode. It was also the only episode in Sailor Moon R not dubbed by DIC, but this episode would not be released in the Region 1 market until the VIZ Media release which released it in both a subbed and dubbed format.
