If Looks Could Kill (1991)

Goofs

If Looks Could Kill

Edit

Continuity

The bullet deflector on the red Lotus is down and then up again on the following shot.
At the dinner table, the champagne glass in front of Michael is alternately full and empty.
When Michael is driving the car then uses the 'disable vehicle' the two back tyres go flat, then in the next shot it shows one of the back tyres fully inflated.

Factual errors

Both the Lotus Esprit and the Nissan 300ZX are US models, shown by the different lights, different body styles (that model of 300ZX was never sold in Europe, and has a French number plate over the smaller US plate mounting), and that year of Esprit was never sold with an air bag in Europe.

Revealing mistakes

In the hotel room while Corben is trying to figure out the condoms, a missile is fired at his bed. Even before the missile hits the bed the room looks destroyed.
As Michael climbs down the side of the house in the last scene (carrying Mariska), an explosion occurs and you see his feet lift off the side of the wall. His shoes are supposed to have suction that hold him up, if his shoes lift he should fall - but he does not move.
After Michael Corbin is presented with the Lotus Esprit, Vendetta Galante shows him the tuxedo and scuba gear in the trunk while Derek opens the passenger door. Clearly, Michael and Vendetta are standing at the rear of the vehicle. However, Lotus Esprits made in the UK are mid-engine vehicles, thus the trunk is in the front.
As Michael runs through the hotel room after the rocket is fired into it he doesn't have any socks on. When he emerges through the door he is putting on his trainers on over his socks.
On the plane to France the stewardess tries to wake up Agent Kramer after he has been poisoned by Ilsa Grunt. But when he slumps forward, his eyes are clearly open.

Plot holes

During dinner with Steranko how did Corben know of his plot (and his gold) if he was never told of it, hadn't learned of it, and was never shown it.

Character error

In the airport, Richardson says his name is David. Later in the bunker, Galante calls him Derek. The rest of the film he is known only as Richardson.
