In a flashback, Sunil and Barkha had a romantic relationship, and it's implied that Sarita is their daughter. However, at the end of the movie, there's no reconciliation between Sunil and Barkha, and Sunil doesn't acknowledge Sarita as his daughter. Instead, they interact as though they are mere acquaintances.
