Paul Satterfield in Arena (1989)

Goofs

Arena

Edit

Continuity

During the first fight, Vermin tells the corner man to inject the drug into Horn's right arm. But they inject it into his left arm.

Revealing mistakes

During the first closeup of Horn lifting Steve over his head in the final fight a safety wire can be seen attached to Steve's waist.
During all the fights in the arena, many of the spectators in the crowd are just painted cutouts with clothes draped over them.

Plot holes

On the poster it says no human has been champion for a thousand years and Steve wants to be the first. When Shorty brings him home, he meets the human Marcus Diablo, who was champion 50 years ago.

Character error

Near the end of the movie when Mr. Weasel and Shorty are fighting above the ring Weasel repeatedly calls Shorty a Nebuloid the actual name of Shorty's race is Nebulite. Correction. As the makeup artist who handled the Weezil makeup, plus stunt doubling the character, I can say this definitely wasn't an error. Earlier in the film. Weezil refers to Shorty as a Nubian. I was on set when this was added and decided to continue the dialogue once I briefly took over the role.
