Sunny Deol like mentioned in my earlier reviews before went thorugh a lean phase after 1985 blockbuster Arjun. What followed after Arjun was a few hits like Yateem, Dacait, Chaalbaaz and after Chaalbaaz came another blockbuster Tridev. Vardi released before Chaalbaaz and this movie was an average at the box office(not a flop, not a hit either). The movie is pretty average except some scenes which are good. The start of the movie is very average. A cop getting beaten up for saving a girl from some goons. Then Sunny enters as the strong dashing cop(similar to Tridev)and fights the badguys. The start is a typical bollywood action movie start but this is OK. However, the movie is really fast at beginning moving on to some criminals and a mujra song. Sunny nabs the villains but clashes with the second hero Jackie and the chase continues. The movie is so fast at beginning that its hard to understand. Sadly, the movie then slows down and then suddenly speeds up with the problems Sunny's dad Vinod Mehra faces. The rise of problems is well shown. The villain and his gonns are well charaterized. From here, after the annoying romantic sequences and comedic laughs Jackie Shroff and Kimi Katkar provide us, the movie picks up and gets better. However, the problems get worse and Sunny is suspended and he leaves his home and the way he finds out Jackie is his brother and that misunderstanding action scene is stupid. The climax at the fake court room setup by the police is silly but still enjoyable. The ending melodrama is such a copy of Manmohan Desai films when long lost brothers and families meet. The movie is not that bad but then again its nothing great and its not original. The background music is copied from Arjun(1985) and it looks bad for this movie. The movie is edited not so well based on these flaws. Acting wise, Sunny Deol and the cops make the movie interesting, Jackie Shroff is somewhat good, Kimi Katkar annoys and so does Madhuri Dixit. The rest are OK but the villains are all typecast. Except, Kader Khan who is perfect and even the mental Kader Khan has acted well though he annoys he's good. Music is average. Only the title song is good which talks about the uniform and our motherland India.Overall, Vardi is another multi-starrer which didn't work but didn't flop.

This movie is awesome and has Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff reuniting after TRIDEV (1989)

The title song about the uniform and India motherland has awesome lyrics

Jackie Shroff and Sunny Deol are both on opposing sides of the law but gradually they start to like each other Kimi Katkar was quite annoying and i didn't see why both the heroes liked her so much when Madhuri Dixit was much better Instead the director made her look ill

Out of everyone, Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff were good Kader Khan was menacing as the villain but funny as the mental brother Vinod Mehra was alright Dharmendra was good in a short role Kimi Katkar was annoying Madhuri Dixit was minimum footage Anjana Mumtaz was alright Raza Murad and Paresh Rawal made good supporting villains

Vardi is an action packed Masala Movie. It Stars Sunny Deol in a decent role. Jackie Shroff in a boring role (Watch Hero, Allah Rakha, Parinda). Madhuri Dixit in a special appearance, more of a Love making scene with Jackie Shroff. Kimi Katkar, who annoys in almost all her films, similarity of the Kapoor sisters. Kader Khan, the only person who does a good job of this movie. The movie has the usual typical 80s style storyline which include parent getting killed, long lost kids that need to re unite, love triangle and final revenge. What made the film quite successful has to be the in famous Madhuri Dixit scene. For those who haven't seen this movie, It contains Madhuri looking ever so sexy exposing glimpses of her body and french kissing away with Jackie Shroff in bed. This is quite rare in Bollywood, you don't get much adult scenes, because it should be aimed at family audience. But most men wanted to be Jackie Shroff for that 2 minutes, including me. I would do Madhuri hard if given the chance. But Madhuri started this (other movies include Dayavan and Parinda). But after the 90s. Their have been many movies with adult scenes including Jism, Murder, Julie, Hawas, Fun and many more
