Erotic Ghost story is an erotic horror Hong Kong movie starring Amy Yip, Man so, Hitomi Kudo and Ha Chia Ling. The movie is directed by Lam Ngai Kai.

The movie is based on the story of three sisters who have attained human form who helps a scholar and than indulge into a relationship.

The story is straight and expected but the movie is full of erotic scenes although it would be wrong to call the movie porn. The actresses are beautiful and sensual and the movie could be a perfect watch for the lovers of soft porn erotic movie.

Directed by Ngai Choi Lam Erotic Ghost Story is the first installment of the long running horror comedy series inspire by one of China most famous novel about strange and bizarre stuff happen in the old days.Three non-human sisters all fall in love with a guy for no good reason despite a warning of a wise old man that the guy might be not that all normal.The highlight of the movie definitely is the graphic sex scene that quite questionable at the time and a wacky final ending fill with cheap special effect.I enjoy this movie and recommend it for other CAT III movie fan

Erotic Ghost Story surely is not as infamous as Sex & Zen - that being said, it was made before that. And you can tell that it is one of the first movies done for (or by) the Cat 3 rules. They still were trying to figure things out - figure, which is something you get a lot here. Ghosts not so much - more like Spirits and beast.

Although I reckon some might argue that in their natural state (is it though?) the beauties are not at all that - beautiful that is. But their human bodies/pods are as good looking as one might hope for. That being said and as the one true part in the international title is being truthful: you get a lot of nudity. Not sure how erotic you will find the things happening. Especially the ones where men convince women by just being persistent ... on the other hand the movie itself does not take itself too seriously, so I don't think it tries to be offensive or should be viewed that way - but fair warning for those who are easily triggered.

And while we're at the subject matter: while most nudity is in the upper area (mostly female of course), there is some flesh down below. And while the bare behind isn't something that most would feel offended by, there is one scene where you can clearly see female genitalia. Without pubic hair to cover it up either. It kind of is unnecessary and out of touch wit the rest of the movie, but it is what it is. Just telling you, in case you get triggered by it.

The movie also mixes a bit of fighting and a lot of comedy into the paper thin plot. I don't remember if I ever saw this or the subsequent sequels (there have been 2 others), but I can't imagine them being as out there - no pun intended. That being said the Naked Killer movie (and the movies that are being considered "sequels", not going to name the titles, you know where to look on imdb if you care) probably went way beyond anything seen here. Not just in the movies but how they treated the actors involved. So I guess while this is not being considered an outright comedy and more an erotic adventure, if you watch it as a comedy it can work. You also have to take into account the sensibilities of the times ... they were different back then - I already gave you examples above.

All in all this is something you have to consider: is it worth your time? It is quite the curiosity and I was intrigued by it. Not titilating or exciting really - but you may feel different about that too.

Refreshing, original film

If you can find this one, check it out; it's pure gold. Amazing stunts, swordfights, and musical numbers all rolled together into an "Evil Dead" setting. Not like any American film you've ever seen. Pure entertainment.

Not for all tastes...

Hmmm... If you get turned on by endless simulated sex scenes, bad acting and REALLY bad effects, you should try this one. I have never seen anything like it. The only problem is that the sex scenes (About 80% of the movie) are extremely dull, and you find yourself wishing for it to stop. Besides the sex, there's an highly original story. It's worth a look, if you just want to watch something out of the ordinary...because this one really is!

A funny sense of deja vu

A very entertaining and different spin on a familiar story. This film and the movie "The Witches of Eastwick" have pretty much the same plot. Both movies were released in 1987, so one has to wonder which was conceived first. Taken partly from Chinese myth and a great deal from John Updike's novel 'The Witches of Eastwick, this movie is a sign of it's times. The special effects aren't particularly good (there's even claymation here), they serve their purpose. Where the setting for "The Witches of Eastwick" is suburban America, this particular take is set in mythic Asia (one assumes China) and for the most part works well. Apparentely this is the first movie of a trilogy and the idea that there are another two movies along this line is disturbing and at the same time intriguing. One major difference between the American WOE and this movie is the amount of soft-core sex in this movie. There's a lot of it! Nothing particularly graphic and it's more amusing than titillating. If you enjoy Hong Kong cinema from the 90's, particularly the Fantasy/Horror genre, then definitely check this one out.

Breast obsessed

Not very ghostly and not all that erotic either. I tend to be harsh on films that rip other films off without offering anything much that's new, and I'm not making an exception here. The rip-off this film does of "Witches of Eastwick" is so lamely done and unoriginal, it's almost sad. At least THAT film had Jack Nicholson at his scene-munching best. Here we have to make do with Manfred Wong who has a nice athletic bod and looks attractive with his rock-star hair extensions, but that's hardly enough to sustain this film.

Nor is the film's obsession with breasts anything to get too worked up about. There is the odd bit of full-frontal nudity (female of course, Hong Kong cinema isn't about to find equality just yet), but time and again the camera focuses on the nearest breast, no matter what else is going on in the scene. This is amateurish film-making, and is not particularly erotic either.

I find it astonishing that 20% of the IMDb users that have rated this film give it 10/10. Perfect film-making? Far, far from it.

Boring

As a rule I do not like Chines erotic films when they are set in period. There is something about them that is completely un-erotic, and yet I find I keep trying the films again and again despite knowing I find them painfully boring.

This brings me to An Erotic Ghost story. This is an awful soft core erotic supernatural tale. It has the well proportioned Amy Yip in one of her few topless roles. However like most films of this nature its not worth seeing and falls into the off the board "bad film category" that should never be bothered with called Hong Kong erotica. Its just bad. So while Amy Yip is one of my favorite actresses, I can't recommend this film to anyone even if they want to see her sans clothes.

Mouth-watering

From the director of the amusing "The Story of Ricky" and the downright bleak "Her Vengeance" comes..."Erotic Ghost Story", a sensual reworking of George Miller's "The Witches of Eastwick". Yes, the film does rip "Witches" off and it does feature some very poor effects sequences (the transformations are like something from the 50's), but...

If Asian women rock your boat, hop on board this erotic masterpiece. I didn't care for the story. I didn't care for the bumbling, hideously irritating character known as "Scholar". All I cared for was seeing more full-frontal nudity of the achingly beautiful creatures who prance across the screen in various states of undress.

There is a plethora of mouth-watering images of breasts, vaginal lips, firm bottoms, tongues, sisters engaged in lesbian loving, masturbation, wind-swept ponds of flower petals, carefree nymphs dancing through fields of swaying grass, you name it, this flick's got it...

As long as you're not expecting anything more than pure female flesh.

It's better than the self-conscious "Sex and Zen" and it leaves its own sequels in the dust.

The music, like its cast, is hypnotic, too.

Sleazy and titillating HK III Cat classic.

"Erotic Ghost Story" revolves around three lustful fairies(played by Amy Yip, So Man and Hitomi Kudô)who have attained human form. Upon helping a hapless scholar,the trio begin to have lustful thoughts about him. This soon leads to many erotic scenes and the eventual discovery that he is a dangerous demon. The film is loosely based upon a series of ghost stories written by Pu Songling during the Qing Dynasty. It provides lots of nudity and some very erotic moments. The sisters are all gorgeous to look at and incredibly sexy."Erotic Ghost Story" was successful enough to spawn two sequels,though neither is as good as the original. Hong Kong film superstar Anthony Wong stars in the second as a sex demon,and the third moves the story in an entirely new direction. Go through hell to watch it.8 out of 10.

Erotic Ghost Story is an hour and a half of smutty Hong Kong craziness that more than delivers what most viewers will be after, namely copious amounts of nudity from its three sexy stars, beautiful So Man, delectable Hitomi Kudô, and the always breastabulous Amy Yip. Happy to shed their clothes at every opportunity, these three actresses play ancient animal spirits who are in the final days of becoming human, but who find their transformation threatened when they all fall for the same man, a scholar named Wu Ming (Lap-Man Sinn), who just happens to be a wicked demon in disguise.

First to get jiggy with lucky Wu Ming is well-endowed Cat III legend Amy Yip, who works up a serious sweat satisfying the scholar. Yip is closely followed by Hitomi Kudô, who is guaranteed to send blood pressures sky high by daring to bare the most, giving viewers an eyeful of her nether regions before getting to work; So Man goes last and shows that, even though she might be the oldest, she's still got what it takes. And when the three women learn that they have all slept with Wu Ming, what do they do? They have a foursome with the fellow, of course. Phew!

The loving ends, however, when the women witness Wu Ming in his true form, as Wu-Tung, a hideous three-faced monster with huge claws who tortures a hapless young woman, tearing the skin off her face (the hilarious special effects have to be seen to be believed). Crafting a voodoo doll, the trio take revenge on the fiend, eventually seeking help from a Taoist priest who causes the demon to explode. All of this silly horror is a whole lot of fun, as is the occasional spot of daft comedy from the girls' nosy neighbours Mr and Mrs Wang.

Followed by two sequels, both of which sound just as sexy and just as bonkers. Count me in!

Great UltraSexy

I hope I can urge people to see this movie. It's not a porno movie but it does boast hot simulated sex with gorgeous women. If you have seen this movie on the new DVD or the old video then do yourself a favor see ERotic Ghost Story 2! Part two is quite a show. It has better hotter sex and Outrageous action scenes that only Hong Kong films can offer. The Photography is great and the kinkiness is right on. Eye candy gone mad.

Witches of Eastwick, Hong Kong Style

The title of this movie is quite blatant and truly earns its MA rating. This is most definitely a movie for adults only considering the number of nudity scenes that are in it. The western mind has a conception that the naked body is not good to look at. In a way I agree and in another I disagree. Firstly, with our sinful nature, the naked body incites lust with in us and leads us into sexual sin. On the other hand God did create the naked body and it is a thing of beauty. To me the naked body is a thing of beauty, but it is not lustful, but I will not go into that.

There are a few interesting things in this movie, the main thing I wish to discuss is sex. First though I wish to outline the plot so that we know what is going on. Three vixen spirits must abstain from pointless lust for thirty-six days or else they will revert to their former vixen form and remain that way for eternity. So they go on a retreat to meditate. One of them, So So, goes into a temple of the god Wulung and lusts over him. She is then later met by a Taoist who warns her that because she is not human it is dangerous for her to do such things. She ignores his warning and later her and her two sisters, Fe Fe and Fei Fei, meet a scholar whom they fall in love with. I won't go into anything else for I might give away too much of the movie. One may think that there is no plot and this movie is just an excuse for explicit sex scenes, but it is not. There is a very interesting plot behind it.

Sex in this movie is seen as evil. The scholar cries out to So So when she begins to seduce him that she is chaste and virtuous and is not supposed to do this. This is true, yet it is not. She is not married to the guy and thus her action is not an act of love but rather one of self-satisfying lust – the thing that they are supposed to abstain from. Sex on the other hand is not evil, God created it for married couples: "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and become united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." (Gen 2:24). This is before the fall of humanity (Gen 3) and thus it was given to us by God as a gift to enjoy with our husband or wife. Further, Paul commands us: "Do not deprive each other (husband and wife) except for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self control" (1 Cor 7:5,6). Of course all of this is pigs to the pearls, but through this I hope to show you that there is nothing evil with sex, just with the way it is used.

Erotic Ghost Story is a Hong Kong version of Witches of Eastwick. The plots are a little similar, though the unfolding of the story comes a little differently. In Witches, the three women are just single women who are seduced by a witch while in Erotic Ghost Story the women are spirits. The scenes are much more explicit in this movie, but this is the Americanism trying to blind us to the truth. In some ways the explicity of this movie is bad, but Hong Kong cinema is much more daring than Hollywood and that is why I like it.

Pure comedy gold

If you're expecting Golden Globe-level acting here, you're in the wrong place. This is hilarious softcore erotica, plain and simple.

Between the campy dialogue, the thinly veiled innuendos and the side-splitting over-the-top situations that these "ladies" find themselves into - the smile of pure glee will never leave your face.

Worth watching at least once a year.
