A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989)

Goofs

A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child

Edit

Continuity

(at around 9 mins) During the graduation, while talking to Mark and Greta, Alice is seen holding the tickets to Europe before Dan has given them to her. They disappear for a bit and then Dan gives them to her a little later in the scene.
(at around 40 mins) When Freddy puts the first spoon of goo into Greta's mouth you can clearly see her spit it out, yet in the next shot of Greta her mouth is already full. And the second time Freddy puts something in her mouth the amount and color changes from the closeup of Freddy to the closeup of Greta.
When Alice falls out of the shower near the start, she is naked. A green towel can be seen wrapped around her when she is lying on the ground; when she stands up, she is nude again.
(at around 12 mins) In the graduation photo, Greta does not face the camera. When Greta later looks at the photo (at around 34 mins), it shows her facing the camera.
(at around 28 mins) The bike's odometer stays at 9850.

Factual errors

Yvonne has swimming practice after graduation. High school sports are over with by the time the school year ends.

Revealing mistakes

When Amanda is wrestling with Freddy at the end and the doors are breaking, it's obviously a doll and not a real person.
(at around 4 mins) Obvious body double for Alice when she is in the shower.
(at around 1h 13 mins) As Yvonne bends over to get a flashlight, after she has knocked out a brick where Amanda Krueger has been walled in, the bricked up wall shakes.
(at around 1h 16 mins) Near the end, when Freddy is holding Jacob's hand, you can clearly see Robert Englund's normal hand at the bottom of the glove. Freddy was completely burned so there should have been scar tissue instead of regular skin.
(at around 1h 20 mins) Bending blade seen on Freddy's glove before he kisses Alice.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

(at around 29 mins) Alice screams "Dan" in the diner, but her mouth doesn't move.
(at around 39 mins) When Greta has an argument with her mother during the Dinner party, while the camera goes to her mother for the second time, the black woman on the right puts her glass of wine on the table and it doesn't make any sound. However when the camera faces Greta again the black woman (on the left side of the screen now) has the glass again in her and and puts it down again, however this time the glass does make a sound.

Plot holes

Mark states that Amanda Krueger hanged herself but they never found her body, and the grave is an empty plot, but that begs the question, if Amanda's body was never found, how did the papers know about her suicide and why was her body kept hidden away in a tower in the asylum.
The doctor breaks his Hippocratic oath by phoning Dan's parents about Alice's hysterical outburst in the ultrasound.
Freddy plans to gather souls, feed them to Jacob to make him evil and then posses him so he can be reborn. His plan would have worked better if he didn't show his evil scheme to Alice, giving her motivation to try and stop him.
