My Brother's Wife

Old flames Barney (John Ritter) and Eleanor (Mel Harris) are brought back together after Barney's father Charles (Dakin Matthews) has died. Catch is Eleanor is Barney's brother Billy's (David Byron) wife. Hence the title. It is a telling of a story between the two and their history leading up to the final scene.

Well executed dramatically and well directed by Jack Bender, who directed in total six of Ritter's movies. Strong performances by Ritter and Harris make this worth watching if you like dramas that has some comedy splashed in as well.

Recommendation to view this movie.
Avril-24 November 1999
A sensitive portrayal by the talented John Ritter, of the 'black sheep' of a rich family. The movie explores not only the relationship of a couple parted by circumstances but united by family ties, but also the relationship between a father and son who - like so many of us - couldn't seem to communicate. A heart-warming drama; sometimes funny, sometimes sad; always engaging.
