K-9 (1989)

Goofs

K-9

Edit

Continuity

When Jerry Lee is being aggressive with the two cops, whilst he is barking at them, it can be seen that he's restrained with a lead around his neck. A moment later, he scamps away into the cop car.
The car keeps changing from washed to unwashed throughout the movie after the car wash scene. The washed car has a dent in the rear quarter panel, while the unwashed car is not dented.
The blade of the forklift that Dooley steps gently off is seen in the next scene to be above head height.
As Jerry Lee comes out of the car wash, he is approached by a man with one blue and one pink towel. However, when the camera switches to a closer view, the man now has two pink towels.
During the movie, Dooley is playing a game when he is on stakeout. In the background, the Mustang emblem can be seen on the steering wheel. Later, in the stolen police car when he is playing a game while tailing Lyman, the Mustang emblem is in the background again.

Factual errors

When Dooley is in the Squad Room with the Officer Assignment Chalk Board behind him, the board shows an officer assigned to the "Homocide" Unit instead of the "Homicide" Unit.
When Jerry Lee pulls the mirror off Dooley's car, Dooley berates him for damaging his "classic '65 Mustang". Dooley's car is, in fact, a not-so-classic '66 Mustang.
The hand-held game that Dooley is playing throughout the film is the Nintendo Game & Watch game "Manhole". The sounds that the game makes, such as the "laughing" noise, do not exist in the game. The "game over" music that plays is taken from the Game & Watch version of Super Mario Bros. The way that Dooley describes the game to Jerry Lee by saying that he's shooting at people and loses when he misses is incorrect, since the object of the game is simply to move a platform around the game screen to stop people falling down open manholes.

Revealing mistakes

After Jerry comes out of the car wash, Dooley opens the door and water spills out, but when Dooley gets into the car and leans back against the car seat, his jacket does not show any wetness when he leans forward again as he is pulling out of the car wash.
After Dooley steals the squad car, he is seen in it waiting outside of Lyman's place. While he waits, he plays his hand-held Nintendo game which clearly has no batteries in it.
When Freddie is handcuffed to Dooley's car, one can hear him saying things despite the fact that his mouth is not moving.
When Tracey brings Jerry into her bedroom, it is seen that her mouth is not moving, yet one can hear her saying "You little sweetheart," and "You're just a little sweetheart" to the dog.
During the car chase with the Mercedes it is seen that a stunt person is driving through that sequence not James Belushi.

Miscellaneous

In the hotel restaurant, Jerry Lee can be heard 'drinking' the tea through a straw, but the level in the glass does not change even after the cut.

Crew or equipment visible

When Jerry Lee attacks the men in the bar and bites one of them on the hand, it is obvious that the man has a padded sleeve so that dog bite would not hurt him.
In the last scene when Dooley is driving to Las Vegas, the reflection of the crew and camera can be seen in his sunglasses.
