Criminal Law (1988)

Goofs

Criminal Law

Edit

Continuity

When the defense attorney places the glass of water on the jury box rail for the second time, it is gone in the next view of where it had been placed.

Revealing mistakes

Attorney Ben Chase fires a pistol several time next to Martin Theil's face. The firearm is about six inches from Theil. This would be deafening, it would also result it discharge from the firearm. Gunshot residue and stippling would be apparent of Theil's face and neck. However, he just has a sinister smile and a quite clean face.

Errors in geography

Fuel pumps display amounts in liters even though the location is supposed to be in Massachusetts.

Character error

Professor Clemtes relays a story from his hospital bed about meeting Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis shortly after graduating from law school. The movie is set is present day (1988). The Brandeis left the bench in 1939. That would make the professor about 2 decades older than he seems to appear in the film.
