When Arthur returns home drunk one night, he stumbles backwards, falls, and shatters the living room table. A short while later, he is shown sitting next to the intact table when Danny comes home from being with Lorna.

During Danny's first music class at a new school, the teacher underlines two words previously written on the chalkboard. But when the class lets out, the words are on the board as originally written, but without the underlining.

When Danny and Martha go into the kitchen, the calendar on the door ends on a Wednesday. The time frame of the scene is either March or April, or at most May of 1987, none of which ended on a Wednesday.

During Danny's Juilliard audition, one of the school's admissions officers stated that he needed to supply them with SAT scores. Juilliard does not, and never has, required applicants to submit standardized test scores.

As they stop at a gas station on the run from authorities, one of the characters is shown removing a Delaware license plate from the front of the gray van. Delaware has never issued nor required front-mounted plates.

(at around 1h 45 mins) When Annie is reading the newspaper article about the robbery, the information begins to repeat at the fifth paragraph.

When Arthur is making meatloaf in the kitchen, he says that he is a vegetarian.

(at around 1h 46 mins) When Arthur says "Do you think this is a good time to discuss this?", the first camera angle shows Arthur saying the complete line. It then cuts to another camera angle, and even though Arthur is no longer speaking, his jaw can be seen moving up and down apparently saying the words "discuss this". Then, the second time he says the line "I taught you.", his jaw movements are out of sync with the audio.

In the sequence when Danny discovers the Feds' cars following him and he sends the dog with his shoe to get his brother Harry, a person's left arm can be seen in the open door of the porch, and it quickly moves back behind the door. It might possibly be the dog's handler, though it doesn't seem to be Harry waiting to come out, since he would have had his props in hand, and the arm's height and size gives the impression of a person larger than Harry.

(at around 1h 29 mins) When Annie and Arthur are talking inside their pickup truck, the reflection of a crew member's movement can be seen in the rear window of the truck.

(at around 49 mins) When Gus is talking to Annie in the kitchen, the shadow of the boom mic can be seen on the wall in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

The movie starts in Florida City, Florida, with the city's water tower showing during the initial baseball game. Florida City is located in the southeastern tip of mainland Florida, but when Arthur appears eventually at the Green Peace church, the sign for it says it is in Wauchula, Florida, which is 200 miles north of Florida city in the central part of the state. When the Popes are driving towards the Northeast, they are seen crossing the Skyway Bridge, which is on the western side of Florida and completely out of the way when traveling from Central or Southern Florida to the Northeast portion of the U.S.
