When the Rent Collector finds Mary Kelly's body, her legs are shown to be intact and she can be seen wearing a torn gray skirt and white blouse, but when Abberline later shows a photograph (the actual crime scene photo) of the body to Doctor Gull, one of her legs is showing a protruding femur and the body is only dressed in a skimpy chemise.

Shortly after his argument in the police station with Lusk, Michael Caine storms into his office and grabs a bottle of whisky which he uncorks. Caine then turns to Lewis Collins to talk to him, then turns back and uncorks the bottle again.

The position of Mary Kelly's bed as viewed from the window into which Thomas Bowyer peered is wrong. It is shown with the foot of the bed closest to the window, when in fact from that angle the view should have been the same view of the bed as shown in the photograph of Mary Jane Kelly's remains (which was found by Donald Rumbelow).

Mary Jane Kelly is shown singing a song shortly before Jack the Ripper enters her room. The song she is singing is not the song she was reported as having sung on the night of her murder, "A Violet From Mother's Grave."

Sir William Gull did not examine the kidney which was sent to George Lusk along with the "From Hell" letter; it was examined by Doctor Thomas Openshaw.

George Lusk of the Whitechapel Vigilance Committee was depicted as a violent, argumentative troublemaker when in fact he was not like that at all.

Unlike the film states, Mary Ann Nichols, the first victim, was not completely disemboweled and had no organs removed. In reality, she only had various cuts and stabs at the lower abdomen, but there was no actual removal of the organs as with several of the other victims.

The date on gulls death certificate is 1985 instead of 1890.

At 1:23:40, in part one, when a crowd is walking past a lad selling newspapers. A gent in an olive green frock coat, can be clearly seen to have a rip in his right sleeve.

Just after Sir Charles Warren leaves the yard for the Lord Mayor's Parade, Superintendent Thomas Arnold remarks to Abberline, "He's offered to resign." In fact, Charles Warren resigned the day before the murder of Mary Kelly.

Prince Albert Victor is referred to as the Duke of Clarence and Avondale, a title that he did not receive until 1890.

An ad for Nestle's condensed milk can be seen on a double decker coach early in the second half. Alhough Nestle's is thought of as a Swiss company, its origins of the product go back as early as 1866 -1867 when American Charles Page, U.S.-Swiss consul, and his brother George Page,established the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company in Cham, Switzerland. Their first British operation was opened at Chippenham, Wiltshire, in 1873. It eventually merged and evolved into Nestle's Milk Chocolate in 1904-1905.
