In the Christmas episode in season 2, Kevin and Wayne try to convince Jack to buy a color television for Christmas. In an episode in season one (Angel #1.4), Kevin is seen watching a color TV in his living room.
Throughout the series, whenever characters are seen riding in vehicles, there are often instances of late-'80s to early-'90s vehicles appearing in the background.
Throughout the series many of the characters are drinking the modern/current cans or bottles of beer.
In "Fishing" Wayne says to Kevin "This Bud's For You" after Kevin's can of Budweiser foams after opening. "This Bud's For You" didn't become a Budweiser slogan until the early '80s.
Throughout the series Wayne constantly calls Kevin "Butt head". The term "Butt Head" didn't become slang with youths until the mid 1980s.
In "The Accident" Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight" plays to close the show. The song wasn't released until 1978, more than a decade after this episode was to take place.
In an earlier season, Kevin makes reference in his Voice Over monologues about Jack bonding with Kevin's children later in life. Although, it's noted in the series epilogue Jack passes away sooner.
