The amount of mud on Steele's clothes after he crashes into the water. When he first appears (talking to the golfers), he's smeared with mud, almost as though he had used his undershirt to wipe his hands off. But by the time he arrives at the hotel, the mud covers almost all of his clothes.
When Remington references "Romancing the Stone," he gives its date as 1985, when it was actually released in spring 1984.
