Plot Summary |
When Nick Foley, a self-made millionaire from New Jersey, decides to manipulate his image for a business merger, he adopts 6 orphan girls who refuse to be split up and makes sure the press is there to catch every glowing moment--meanwhile planning to stick them in a boarding school after his success. But raising 6 girls is far from easy; they keep him on the edge of his last nerve. When things go awry, he starts to take notice of them as people instead of a group. He soon changes his mind about the school and decides to keep them around permanently, and he tries to smooth out his rough edges to become a role-model parent, which takes much time and love. The girls go through their own troubles as they adapt to a having an adult who is actually trying. Used to being on their own, they make a lot of adult decisions without asking Nick, from buying a food truck to making a trek to Vegas to retrieve Elvis' guitar, and putting themselves often at risk. Nick is there to save the day, and the girls always learn valuable life lessons. Did You Know?
Trivia | Although networks loved the pilot episode, executives feared there were just too many children in the cast. Thus, the character of Nina played by Heather McAdam was written out of the series by having her reunited with her birth mother. See more » |
Goofs | Though the series is set in the year 1961, much of the clothes and accessories worn by the characters are clearly from the 1980s. See more » |
