Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)

Goofs

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Edit

Continuity

(at around 15 mins) When the group of kids enter the police station, Cort has his headphones around his neck, then a few shots later, he takes them off his ears.
During both the police chase scene and the scene where Jason stops the two in the road, the scene changes from nighttime to daytime and back again.
(at around 35 mins) Cort's shirt rolls itself down inside the motorhome.
(at around 31 mins) Jason's machete disappears from his hand as he walks after Steven through the woods.
In many shots of Crystal Lake from the shore, the water is always murky and brown, yet underwater, it is clear, well-lit, and blue.

Factual errors

The Turkish poster features artwork of Jason wielding a chainsaw. He does not use a chainsaw in this film, nor in any other film in the series.
Tommy empties the gas can and the lid is off, making it impossible for Megan to start the motor, let alone run long enough to decapitate Jason.

Revealing mistakes

(at around 1h 2 mins) When Tommy and Megan are driving towards the camp, a shot is reused from the earlier police chase scene. You can tell by the reflection of the red police lights in the trees.
(at around 11 mins) When Deputy Cologne comes in to the station, he is supposedly bringing in some take-out food. When he has to deal with Tommy and the boxes hit the ground, they sound like they are empty foam boxes.
(at around 18 mins) After Cort and Paula bring their groceries from the truck, their reflection can be seen in the side panel as they walk past the camera and sit down, waiting for the scene to end.
In the coffin, a maggot falls straight down off Jason, even though he is supposedly lying down. Additionally, the maggots appear and disappear between shots.
(at around 1h 17 mins) Tommy Jarvis pours the gas on two sides of the boat, yet when he throws the match into the water the fire circles around the boat.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

(at around 39 mins) Cort turns up the Alice Cooper song, but the volume remains the same.

Crew or equipment visible

When Bert is chopping when the machete before Jason grabs his hand, you can see a red reflection on the blade meaning it must be a crew member.
When Jason walks slowly through the cabin where the little girls are sleeping, the close up of Jason's face shows a microphone wire on the left side of his head.

Plot holes

(at around 50 mins) Officer Pappas reports Megan's license plate number even though she is driving backwards and there is no license plate on the front.

Character error

Jason is depicted as having been buried in the ground with his body intact after being killed by Tommy Jarvis in the fourth Friday movie; however, dialog in the fifth movie indicates that Jason was cremated.
