A Fine Mess (1986)

Goofs

A Fine Mess

Edit

Continuity

When Spence's brother in-law nearly crashes into Dennis' girlfriend's car, he drives straight down the road and she makes a left from the intersection to cut in front of him. Upon changing the camera's angle, the intersection that he should have just passed is nowhere to be seen.
The damage to the front grill of Binkey and Turnip's first caddy changes throughout Spence and Dennis' car chase; a small hole to half the grille.
After Dennis punches Spence in the nose, the piano starts playing and Dennis just pushes it to turn it off - when before then, they had to use the on/off switch for the instrument.
When Dennis and Spence try to outrun the cops in their stolen racetrack car, an interior shot shows them driving on a regular street. Yet an exterior shot shows them driving on blacktop streets.
Subsequent to Binkey and Turnip's car accident, Spence's brother in-law goes to call Spence; he only dials 3 digits the first time, then 6 digits and later 5 digits.

Factual errors

As Spence escapes Binkey at the racetrack, he just jumps in the car, puts it in gear and drives off without ever starting the car up.

Crew or equipment visible

When the thugs chase Spence and Dennis away from the racetrack in their car, they wind up crashing into a vending table full of stuffed toys with the collision seen in an interior shot. In the exterior shot that follows, the camera can be seen in the car's back seat.
After Dennis gets into Spence's stolen car, a patrol car comes by to which a nervous Spence responds by reversing from his parking space before Dennis can alight. As Spence backs out and then switches to drive, the shadow of the camera can be seen on the ground.
The camera crew and stage light are reflected on the Cadillac's fender as Spence and Dennis' thugs speed off from the racetrack.
