At the end of the movie, when David (Tom Hanks) is in the park interacting with Sarah (Cristina Marsillach), he has his duffel bag with him and leaves the park with it on his way to the plane. When he arrives at the plane boards, he no longer has his duffel bag with him.
In a number of scenes, David (Tom Hanks) is dressed in a gray colored RAF uniform. The RAF uniform color is blue, not gray.
During the boxing match, it is very obvious that a lot of the extras who play fans are mouthing their words and not talking.
The single seat aircraft David (Tom Hanks) lands in Egypt is a P51 Mustang. This was not used by the Desert Air Force as it was too new and needed for bomber support over Europe. It should have been a P40 Kittyhawk (US Tomahawk). It could have been a Spitfire late in 1942 perhaps.
The MG car is a TD, built in the early 1950's. It should be a TA from the 1930's. All TDs had solid wheels and TAs had the large wire wheels.
An Austin A40 Devon saloon is briefly featured, though it was not introduced until 1947.
