Trancers (1984)

Goofs

Trancers

Edit

Continuity

The "long second" device is supposed to stretch out 1 second of time to appear as 10 seconds. The first time, it lasts for some 90 seconds, and we see a bullet moving at well under 1 mph, indicating a reduction factor of much more than 10. The second time, the effect lasts for about 45 seconds.
Jack changes from clean shaven to having stubble several times during his first day in the past.
Items in the kitchen when the first Trancer is scorched.

Factual errors

The baseball card of Ashby is said to be from the "'63 Angels", yet the face of the card is the design of the '59 Topps set.
Art LaFleur's surname is misspelled in the opening credits as Le Fleur, though it does appear as La Fleur in the closing credits.

Revealing mistakes

When Jack and Lena are travelling along Caheunga Blvd in the T-Bird after the shopping mall incident, it is obvious the car is on a trailer as they appear to be higher up than the passing traffic, including vans! Also, if you observe Jack's steering wheel actions which appear to be quite erratic at times, the car does not appear to copy his movements.
When Lt Weisling is standing over the body bag in the supermarket (25:34), the body bag glows red and the body inside disappears. Surely when the medics walk over they would have noticed there was no body inside the body bag.
Just after the opening credits finish, the mist disappears on the left half of the screen for about a second, showing that it was a filter or special effect.
During the fight with black woman in the diner at the beginning of the movie, for several shots from her back you can see it is a white stuntman doing the fighting.
Near the start of the movie when Jack is shown a baseball card with Hap Ashby on he says '1963 Angels, what the hell is this?' if you look closely at the card there is no mention of the year 1963 so how would he have known the year?

Miscellaneous

In the warehouse scene, where the cops are chasing Jack and Leena, it is supposed to be night, but you can clearly see daylight through windows, and under the slightly open gate.
When Jack is driving down the road in the car in 1985, he is turning the steering wheel continuously from left to right and vice versa, but the car continues to drive straight ahead.

Crew or equipment visible

After Jack has finished fighting in the cafe near the start of the movie (5:45), if you look closely at the right hand side of the screen you can clearly see a member of the crew's face through a hole in the wall.

Plot holes

Boom mic visible

During the scooter chase.
When Jack is trapped in the tanning salon, the boom mic, as well as part of the operator, is visible as the camera pans up in two shots.
While Deth is talking to Leena about whether or not to visit the noisy club below them, the boom mic can be seen over Tim Thomerson's head.
