When they all go to the carnival, Rusty is wearing a black mini skirt. In the Director's Cut version, the next scene after Rocky and Rusty looking at his reflection in the fun-house mirror is the campfire where Rocky and Rusty perform Little Egypt. Here, Rusty is wearing black jeans. The next scene, after the fist fight breaks out at the campfire, is Rusty and Gar kissing on her front step, which appears after the funhouse mirror scene in the original and Rusty is wearing the black mini skirt again.
During Rusty and Rocky's performance of "Little Egypt", Gar has a very noticeable 5 o'clock shadow. Moments later, when Gar and Cher arrive at her house, he is clean shaven.
Rocky and his mom have an argument shortly after Christmas (the tree is still up in the house) yet the next day they go to a carnival; Rusty is dressed for summer.
In the final scenes when Rusty destroys the kitchen, after she has taken the mug and destroyed all the glasses on the wooden shelf, the next scene in which she walks back into Rocky's bedroom, you can clearly see that there is blood on the right side of her forehead, making it appear as if she apparently got cut by some of the flying glass.
Rocky died in 1978. In the directors cut, the song Born in the USA is playing when they're at the cemetery. That song did not come out until 1985.
When recounting the beginning of the Trojan War to his class, Rocky mentions the Trojan horse. The teacher doesn't correct him, even though the Greek story states that the Trojan horse ended the war many years after it begin.

When Laura Dern is leaving the camp (right before her parents arrive) you can clearly hear one of the children that she hugs refer to her as Laura instead of Diana, her character name.
When Rocky looks in the carnival mirror it alters his deformed face to appear almost normal. They send for his mother (Cher) to look at him. The same mirror that altered Rocky's face to appear normal should have deformed his mother's face. But when you see them looking in the mirror, Cher's face is looking perfect. Also, Rocky's nose casts a shadow in the mirror; on his actual face, the bridge of his nose casts no shadow.

When Cher opens her beer can in the camping scene near the beginning of the movie, the can has a stay tab. These were not used on cans until the 80s. Cans prior to then used pull tabs.
