As Lane and Monique, in the newly-fixed Camaro, drive up to the car with the Ree brothers and their dates, the wide shot shows the foursome noticing and looking over at the Camaro. However, in the next shot they are still chatting amongst themselves and haven't seen the Camaro yet.
Lane's can of Diet Coke appears and disappears during the slime meal.
While they are having a "French" dinner the jar of primer jumps around the table.
When Monique and Lane are skiing the day before the big race Lane is wearing a solid gray jacket with long sleeves, but then he is shown with black and white striped arms, and then back to the solid gray jacket again all in the same sequence.
During the final ski race, the sun alternates back and forth between midday, late day, and completely overcast in the span of less than 10 minutes.
Around 1 hour, at the dinner, the French dressing bottle contains a yellow liquid. French dressing is usually red.
Around 1:20, when Lane is playing his saxophone, he is not wearing a neck cord. All saxophones need to be played with a neck cord to prevent dropping the instrument.
The High School dance singer is wearing a sleeveless dress. During the next song she sings, she has puffed sleeves on her dress. She has simply changed outfits in the intervening time she is off screen.
On Christmas morning, Al Meyer is putting a bow on the garage door, he is using a ladder. However, when he stands on the driveway in front of the garage, he is eye-level with the bow. Clearly, he did not need the ladder to put either the windows in or the bow on; this is intentional, and meant to be a joke.
When the paperboy is chasing Lane and Roy down the mountain, the card in the spokes on his bike is audible, which is not technically possible as the wheels aren't turning, due to being mounted on skis; this is clearly an intentional gag and not a mistake as the audio would have been added in post for humorous effect.
When Monique is working on Lane's car, we see various parts lying on the ground in the opening shot. She shows Lane she has gotten his car running, despite the fact one of the parts is the distributor, which is necessary for the car to start or run.
It is possible that a new distributor cap was needed and that is the old one sitting on the ground.

[54:05]When Rocko (Chuck Mitchell) issues the keys to Lane (John Cusack) he tells him that he wants him in there at 6:00 to sweep and mop for the breakfast crew. Restaurants routinely do so at night while closing, so the place would be swept and mopped Friday night (or any other night for that matter). However, as Lane then gets yelled at for going to wash his hands before handling food, it's clear that this isn't a restaurant with high hygiene standards.
At the end of the movie when the Monique and Lane are kissing at Dodgers Stadium, you can clearly see bike tracks in the dirt and grass where the paperboy had ridden in previous takes.
When Lane and Monique set the Camaro's air filter in place, there is no threaded stud there for them to screw the wing nut onto. They just pretend to screw the nut on.
When the paperboy careers off the mountain, just as he is knocked off course by Roy, the stunt double is obviously a full grown adult.
When Lane's father is reading the book on teenage drug use, the camera focuses in on the headline of the chapter: "Paranoia". The first two lines of the chapter are visible and are obviously "Greeked" or made-up nonsense text.
When Lane lights the three candles in the restaurant, the ambient light brightens much more than three candles would allow.
Around 13 minutes, Lane is attempting to ski the run in less than 58 seconds. When he starts, it appears that Roy takes a second to start his timer. In addition, when Lane skis past Roy, he doesn't stop the timer until Lane comes to a stop. If he had timed it correctly, Lane would have made the run in under 58 seconds.
At the very end of the movie, Lane squeals the tires on a snow-covered road as he drives away.
When the paper boy first comes to collect his two dollars (at Lane's front door), his voice does not match his lip movements.
When Monique is throwing fruit at the sign she is only slightly bending over to pick up the fruit. When we see her from further away, the fruit is on the ground - at a height level much lower than to which she stoops to pick them up. When we see her closer again in the next shot to throw more fruit, she is only stooping half way again.
When Lane plays his sax to Monique at dinner, his fingers don't match the music being played. Also, the sound of the saxophone is performed on a digital sampler.
When Lane is contemplating jumping off the bridge, you can see
the shadow of a safety cord attached to his waist. At certain points you can actually see the cord.
While the dad is trying to open the garage door to prevent the last window from being broken, a gray-haired crew member can be seen reflected in one of the broken windows.
Camera and operator visible during the final ski race with the paper boy.
Crew is visible when the cafeteria doors "spontaneously" swing open as Ricky enters the school dance.
After Roy and Lane's showdown on the K12, a sign can be seen in the background revealing the ski slope to be in the state of Utah. The film is set in Northern California.
Greendale, CA is located in farmland outside Sacramento. It is nowhere near any mountains.
When Badger (Lane's younger brother) receives the package, the address is in fact the address of the house which was filmed in Glendale (see filming locations) but the ZIP(TM) code shown is 93065 which is the ZIP(TM) (postal) code for Simi Valley, California.
[37:23] When they're opening Christmas presents, Mrs. Smith asks if they have Christmas in France. She squeezes her cheeks and says in a condescending way and says, "Christ...mas". At [1:11:47] Lane Meyer says, "you could make a nice friend. You know: Friennnnd" in the same condescending way. He just discovered that Monique speaks English so he could not have known that Mrs. Smith did the same thing.
At the final race, the race official signals Lane to go first. The official then sends Roy 5 seconds later, thus suggesting that the race is based on time. Lane beats Roy by only a fraction of a second. Therefore, Roy had the better time and should have won the race.
[1:05:24] Stalin is hitting on Monique in the school cafeteria which is what led Lane to challenge him to the K12. [1:16:14] Lane Meyer tells Monique, "she dumped me for this slime bag named Stalin" as though Monique has never met him.
[32:18] After Lane Meyer gets beaten up by the basketball team, he goes to his car and the driver's side rear tire is flat. He doesn't notice and he gets in the car and drives away normally.
The family's name is "Myer." This spelling is used in the end credits and in all promotional material for the movie. But Badger gets a package in the mail, and on said package, the family name is spelled as "Meyers."
When Lane and Monique roll up to the Ree brothers (and their dates) in the Camaro and as soon as they realize he's there, they scramble to put helmets on. The female riding shotgun puts her helmet on backwards covering her eyes, then adjusts it so that she can see. It remains on backwards until she takes it off to hit the driver with it.
