The colour of the red
kko-227 June 1999
Though I saw this short film only twice, this is unforgettable. Derek Jarman went to Moscow with his super-eight camera and shot places, re-creating the film into his usual artistic and impressive image(s). We can buy most of his works on video in Japan, but this one has never been available. Shame.

I too would like to see it released on DVD

I lit the part of the film that was shot in a flat just off piccadilly circus, I have only seen it once, when it was shown at the London Film Festival. It was shot on video in the UK and I remember that we worked quite hard to get the red to work (red is not a colour that works very well on primitive video equipment). I've never been paid either, despite having one of the production credits. Still, we're not all in it for the money.
