The woodcutter uses the word 'vulpine' to describe a wolf-like creature. The correct term is 'lupine'. 'Vulpine' relates to foxes.
When the wife peeks out the window she sees a werewolf looking in at her, but the bedroom she and her husband are in is located on the second floor so this would not be possible unless the werewolf were as tall as a two story building or standing on a ladder. Obviously, the werewolf has scaled the house (as the husband is seen to do moments later when he goes out the window and climbs down) and is peering in while clinging to the outside of the window frame.
Mrs Ardoy says she has eight children, but there are actually ten.
