Ernest Borgnine, Jan-Michael Vincent, and Alex Cord in Airwolf (1984)

Goofs

Airwolf

Edit

Continuity

Stringfellow Hawke appears to change into his flight suit instantly when boarding Airwolf, even when under heavy fire.
Throughout the series, stock footage is used of the Airwolf, with the inevitable result being inconsistency between shots, such as weapons extended without there being any threat, or weapons being extended in one shot and being retracted in another.

Factual errors

Airwolf's control stick has two buttons controlled by the thumb: On the left side to enable "turbos", on the top to fire a missile. Throughout season 3 Hawke and Dominic sometimes press the top "missile" button to engage turbos.
Throughout the series, Airwolf is shown launching various missiles from three small tubes under the helicopter. These include the Copperhead (6 inch diameter x 54 inch length), Harpoon (13.5 inch diameter x 12.5 feet length), Hellfire (7 inch diameter x 64 inch length), and Maverick (12 inch diameter x 8 feet length). None of these missiles are small enough to fit into the tubes shown. All of the air-launched variants were mounted on hardpoints on the wings. The Copperhead was never used by aircraft, it is launched by artillery.

Revealing mistakes

Throughout the series due to budget constraints, several scenes and special effects shots are lifted from well known movies from the 70s and 80s and even from earlier Airwolf episodes.
Airwolf's retracting guns occupy the same space as her rear landing gear.
Throughout the series, several actors play several different characters, with minimal attempt at disguising this.

Miscellaneous

Airwolf's hiding area is in the Valley of the Gods in Utah, whilst Santini Air is in Los Angeles. Despite this, Mr. Hawke or Mr. Santini have no trouble getting to the hiding area in a very small amount of time, often within an hour.

Plot holes

There doesn't seem to be a way to get into Dominic's Airwolf station. The only entry to the chopper shown is the two front doors where the front seats are, with a wall behind them. It seems unlikely Dom crawls over his console every time.
