THE SUPER GANG is a low budget 1984 vehicle for former Bruceploitation actor Bruce Le, here playing a man who gets involved with a couple of rival gangs who have been abusing immigrants. There's a little back story in this Hong Kong production but it mainly gives way to endless action sequences in the second half of the thing, in which Le works his way through various goons while gradually working his way to the top.
It's a cheap and slapdash thing, without much in the way of artistic merit, but it does have a ton of bloody action to recommend it. The fight choreography isn't great but it's not the kind of film you could ever be bored by. Content-wise it's very typical by genre standards, although Le is mildly amusing in his energetic way and there's a welcome, if minor, appearance from Bolo Yeung. The ending has some odd stuff involving a devilish character but for the most part THE SUPER GANG is kung-fu-by-numbers.
