excellent movie

The film is very good. It is about the country life in post-war Yugoslavia, ruined school, ex-partisan as a school teacher, captured German officer as a school janitor, there is a love story between the school teacher and the local nurse. There are very good scenes, the acting is superb..

Some of the scenes will make you cry. There is a scene at the local party where Danilo Bata Stojkovic dances with the nurse and remembers his late wife. The scene has Oscar-like qualities...

The comments in the background are by the former pupil in that school which gives additional flair to the film. Must see, even for non-Yugoslavs.

Amazingly positive film, full of emotions. And all of that during ugly times. Proof that for a masterpice there is no need for expensive budget and big production. There is a series, with a different name, too.
